So I randomly stumbled onto Sinking Orange's Let's Play of the Movies and it got me interested in this game. I'm normally a fan of sim/tycoon games and I'm not sure why I didn't pick this game up when it was first released.

I was dismayed to find that there were NO digital downloads available for the game. (Legal ones anyway, and that is what I want, I'm no pirate).

Apparently, the website that was used to support the game and provide key additional content was shut down awhile ago, which is why they decided to stop selling the game.

Given GoG's love of giving us 'bonus content' with our games, I think The Movies would be a prime fit, since the bonus content that you would normally have earned through their website could just be bundled with the GoG download.

Anyone know if GoG is looking to get this title in their library? I'd buy it in a heartbeat if they do.

Basically, the rights are spread between Microsoft, Activision, and Feral Interactive. At least, they were, dunno how the situation is right now.

So, it could be quite hard to get the game here.

This game actually used to be sold on Steam before but was pulled after a while. Would be nice to know what happened to the rights as it is an interesting game.

edit: Thanks Kavazov, lol

kavazovangel: snip
So this is why Gamersgate is selling it for mac....
since lionhead is apparently working on a version of it for the xbox i'm gonna guess the rights have reverted to Lionhead (MS therefore)
I have my boxed copy. :D
I have a boxed copy of the game as well, but I haven't played it in ages, and I recall it never really wanted to work on my older computer.

Publisher:Feral Interactive
DRM:Feral Interactive

That must be one nasty publisher.
There's a store right here in town with maybe five or six copies at $10 each for the PC. I think it's still available on disc, anyway - maybe check Amazon?

Probably produced by Wolverine Interactive and directed by Chuck Norris.

Sounds about right, I was thinking about 3D Moviemaker when I saw this thread and that was an MS title. A brilliant one at that.

If it was directed by Chuck Norris it would be the only DRM to kick the pirates' arses* and leave the paying customers alone.

*probably literally, despite all the laws of physics it would be against.
