JMich: GOG does have an agreement with Double Fine, so I certainly hope so :)

To the wishlist!

Neobr10: But EA owns the Brutal Legend trademark, as far as i'm aware.
You are wrong on that point. Double Fine owns it.

Foxhack: With all that licensed music, who knows?
I would love to see the actual text in music licensing agreements that for example have kept games from here or Steam. Such things should be outlawed due to basic fairness IMO. If a license is valid for physical goods it should be valid for digital releases, if it is valid for one digital provider it should be valid for all, if it is valid in one region it should be valid for all.

Luisfius: It is only unbearably shitty if you do the rts stuff hands-off.
Eddie is supposed to be in the thick of it, melt faces, beat things along with his minions. Eddie is not a commander, he fights!

On the other hand, I liked it
I'll give it one more try... i never went into it i just commander styled it and got so frustrated it was forced on you... im just not good at RTS at all and have no skill...

Historically, GOG and licensing haven't mixed to well...

Yeah, you need to play it as an action game with some RTS elements. Only by directly engaging in the action can you turn the stage battles in your favor. Staying in the air all the time is handicapping yourself.
Wait, they're finally porting this to PC? Because this was a console only release...

Yeah, worldwide licensing of this game would be a real chore I suspect. Never know, though.

Anyway as much fun as this game looks I assume I would gate the RTS elements and not enjoy playing it.
Awesome that this is coming out on pc.
I bought it for the xbox 360 a few years ago, but shortly thereafter my 360 died so i didn't play much of it

Tizoc789: Brutal Legend recently popped up in the Steam registry:
marlamin.com/cdr/view.php?type=sub
As excited I am at getting it, I would much rather get a DRM free ver. if possible. There are already some Double Fine games on gog, so I'm hoping this'll get a release here as well.
Omg, dude thank you for this! Oh please let it be true! I want this game sooo bad! Thank you for posting this !
Maybe a part of the Dracogen Deal?

They funded the Mac version of Psychonauts and the ports of Costume Querst and Stacking to PC. This could mean a digital release without a publisher and a possible GOG.com release while after the Steam Release...
They managed to re-establish the rights for so many songs? Awesome!
WHOT - Brutal Legend coming to PC? I am very happy now. this has been a very good week.
So did this game have actual songs in it or a did it have an original soundtrack? I never played it but i remember watching a trailer and thinking it looks really nice.

Cormoran: Geeze, took them long enough.

I'm guessing they put it up at full price, DRM the shit out of it, watch it sell like crap then blame piracy.
You forgot "make a shitty straight port to PC", but otherwise yes, that sounds about par for the course.

It had both a shitload licensed songs, and a bitching heavy metal soundtrack done by Peter McConnell. It was great.

There's yet another potental issue to point out - the multiplayer mode. Assuming DF choose Steamworks, that part of the game would have to be removed completely (not that I care, but...).
