Brutal Legend recently popped up in the Steam registry:
marlamin.com/cdr/view.php?type=sub
As excited I am at getting it, I would much rather get a DRM free ver. if possible. There are already some Double Fine games on gog, so I'm hoping this'll get a release here as well.
GOG does have an agreement with Double Fine, so I certainly hope so :)

To the wishlist!

I played this on console a few year back and it was nuts to say the least, fair few different play styles and the parodies of some of the old skool rockers was fun.

Be cool to see a PC version land at some point but nothing has been officially announced as of yet. I just hope that it isn't a mess like the recent Viking Battle for Asgard PC port.
:D Awesome news.

Will depend on who publishes it. Wikipedia lists EA, but not sure if that's Partners or not.If it's EA proper, then I'd say the chances are slim due to regional restrictions. If it's EA Partners, it could go either way.
I'd double-dip on this. And if they want to make fans really happy, they should include a custom soundtrack feature so we can finally add all the metal we want to the game.
To this day the most regrettable purchase i ever made, and i bought Gothic 3 and SpacesSiege on day 1... the game was designed around and made of lies... sucked you in with the promise of a great RPG akin to Psyconauts then raped you with forced shitty RTS elements for the second half o the game...

i will never forget the betrayal of Brutal Legend... Its not nice to lie to your fans....
Geeze, took them long enough.

I'm guessing they put it up at full price, DRM the shit out of it, watch it sell like crap then blame piracy.

It is only unbearably shitty if you do the rts stuff hands-off.
Eddie is supposed to be in the thick of it, melt faces, beat things along with his minions. Eddie is not a commander, he fights!

On the other hand, I liked it

Would it be made easier with the mouse and keyboard combo?

Also, the PC release may be more refined and updated. Perhaps some issues with the game may be ironed out for the new release?

I think I can predict what will happen: It will be locked to 30 fps and people will be bitching about it for all time. Just like all their other games.

Personally, I don't this whining about games with 30 fps when said game really doesn't need higher. If it plays smoothly, who really cares how many fps you're getting!?

But your eyes can clearly see the frames then! And your reaction time is about a millisecond longer! It's madness, every time you die in that game is because you -need- at least 30 frames more to be successful!

But EA owns the Brutal Legend trademark, as far as i'm aware.

Well GOG also has agreement with EA, so we can still hope.
With all that licensed music, who knows?
