And coming up next, the 2 steps back...

The draft guidelines for the R18+ rating have been released and look pretty sane and sensible. As you can imagine being a cynical bastard I have very limited hope that these might actually be approved and if there's a sticking point, I suspect it'll be because of 2 elements:

1) The description under the word Sex:
Sexual activity may be realistically simulated. The general rule is
“simulation, yes – the real thing, no”.
2) One word:
Rapelay
The one word isn't in the report but I'd bet both nuts, both kidneys and at least one lung that the word will come up in the ACL's histrionic response and/or the AGs meeting (especially if the acl are suspiciously invited to address the meeting again)

What the hell, Australia, the PM of your neighbor was an ex-prostitute transvestite! How can you be so repressed?!
most people must be happy with the censorship. I dont see any other explanation.
It's the old "violence = good, sex = bad" thing again.

Other than the 90+% petition supporting the R18 rating, sure

And then there's the whole Cicciolina in Italy thing.

lol. Well, the good news is if you Aussie gamers wanted to, you could totally take that poll as many times as you could come up with email addresses. :p

Edit: I went ahead and voted a few times to support your cause!

DelusionsBeta: It's the old "violence = good, sex = bad" thing again.
I disagree, you can actually have BOTH, since the rating allows for sexual violence (if in reasonable context) ;P
