No details but apparently there is a interview (yet to be put up) with RPS about this...
How about they finish what they started first? >.<
Step 1: Create Kickstarter campaign.
Step 2: Receive money.
Step 3: There is no step 3.
inXile had 2 Kickstarters. DoubleFine had 2 soon after. No surprise if they or anyone else are going the double route as well. So long as they deliver.

I don't think that's a good example...

Honestly idc if they do another Kickstarter. They just better make sure their finances are in order & they have a clear plan
If only they could go the way inXile went, and use Dragon Kings rpg as the world setting.
The reason they are doing this most likely is the exact same reason InXile did it (with Torment).

Making video games you have people that will be finished with their part of the game development before other people.

Once they are done with their part (IE concept artist, writer, level designer) you then need to move them onto another project. Otherwise you are basically paying them for nothing and losing money. This is sadly why a lot of game companies have layoffs when they finish a game and have nothing in the pipeline.

Having a new game when these people finish with the last one (which isn't actually released yet) that they can start work on is the best way to do things, it keeps people working and jobs secure without having to let people go that you want to keep on.
