Always a pleasure - and it's an exclusive right now, so it's nice to share :D

I know! I can't wait! I need to check that release date...I already have KoA: Reckoning and Prey 2 on preorder, so I don't want to overdo it -.-

cw8: Looking forward to this and after the the XCOM FPS it's very good news. I wonder if Xenonauts will drop its price after this piece of news, I want to get the game but I'm waiting for a pricedrop.
You can now get Xenonauts for $19 and play the beta pretty fun so far
Screenshots! And new details on Rock Paper Shotgun.

According to the article, the shooter is delayed till 2013. Not that I really care, I'm just glad Firaxis are making a proper remake.

This discussion made me re-download XCOM for my netbook and UFO: Aftershock for my laptop. I love pausable strategy. (I had forgotten how complex both are, though - I kind of suck at them all over again).

I still say it needs another 4 bucks knocked off the cost...
I hope this sells better than the FPS one, so that it sends a clear message across to 2K. One must applaud 2K for this move to have two UFOEU/X-COM games though. It's almost like a marketing experiment.
The details have me very excited. There's a couple of details that I can see ruffling feathers, but could result in a better more easily accessible game. The removal of time units with a move/attack/wait type of system I could see upsetting a lot of people.

But I know from experience, trying to introduce new people to X-Com is very hard. So a streamlining while keeping the core game values in tact could work wonders.
You know what, I'm actually back to being intrigued by this. I was concerned it was just going to be a shiny remake of a game I've already played, but I like the look of it and the changes sound pretty good.

I played the original XCOM years ago. When I saw the article about the re-make/new take on XCOM on GameInformer magazine, I was very intrigued. Needless to say, I'm fully hooked on this now.

The shooter doesn't look bad either, but this, THIS, this is going back to what I remember and do somewhat better in. Strategy.

Though I will likely be getting this on the console vs PC due to the specs, plus my laptop/PC is old and clunky. :(
As far as "remakes" go, this new XCOM definitely has a lot of promise. Here's a video of actual gameplay (plus some not too horrible PR talk). It's a good thing then that the lead designer is a massive XCOM fan and probably one of the biggest reasons why this game will see a release this Fall. It also has been in development before people were going mad about the other new XCOM game.

I'm excited for this.
