This happens rarely, as our test lab does its best to assure your experience with our titles is as smooth as possible. But it does happen. And when it does, we want to give you the best support you'll ever get from an on-line store. Just navigate to our Support section--it's quite possible that the solution to your problem is already posted there. But what if they cannot find a solution? If such a rare event should occur, we'll give you your money back. Simple as that. If you buy a game on GOG.com and find that it doesn't work properly on your system, and our support cannot fix the problem, you get a full refund. It's a worldwide guarantee, and you have whole 30 days after the purchase date, to contact us about the refund.

There's even more! If you bought a game by mistake, or simply changed your mind about a purchase, you can get a full refund within 14 days, as long as the game wasn't downloaded. If in any doubt about our refund policies, please consult our FAQ.

We hope our Worldwide Money Back Guarantee will make you feel secure while you expand your DRM-free catalog on GOG.com. Having that said, we're confident that our titles won't give you any trouble in 99.9% cases!

Great idea :) I've never run into any problems with any of the games I have in my account, but I'm sure those who require it will be very grateful.

Good job GOG.
GOG proves - once again - that "customer friendly" aren't just empty words.
Of course, I hope and wish that the new service will be rarely needed. And for the sake of all of us, I hope that people will return the great trust GOG puts in us.

TheEnigmaticT: The FAQ talks about it, but basically whoever buys the game gets the money back when a refund is issued; the service complaint needs to originate from the account that actually owns the game, though.

TheEnigmaticT: Person "A" buys a gift and presents it to person "B". Person "B" (the guy who got the gift) needs to be the one asking for the refund. If the game doesn't work on his system--and our Support guys can't help--then person "A" gets back the money for the gift.

IMHO, a bit of clarification and improvement of the FAQ wording is in order, because I'm a bit confused now.
I'm pretty certain that the FAQ linked to in the OP does say the exact opposite. Please check Q9 and Q10, they both state that the person that bought the game is expected to initiate the refund process, not the person that received it as a gift.
But if submitting a support ticket for technical issues is the only route to a refund, how exactly is the person that bought the game supposed to contact you to ask for a refund?
So, who needs to initiate the refund process - the person that paid for it or the person that ends up having it in their game library/ account? Or both, as in "after the person that has the problematic game in their account submits a support ticket and after it ends up as unfix-able, only then can the person that paid for the game ask for a refund"? (Though this still doesn't address the 'how" part).

And that's in the context of the new guarantee. Does the "refund within 14 days, as long as the game or its bonus content wasn't downloaded" guarantee apply to gifts as well or only to games that one buys for themselves? And if it applies, does the person that paid for the game have the right to initiate a refund or only the person that received the gift?

It'd be great if we could get some clarification on these points :-)
Pretty much the entire legacy of kain series wont play for me except defiance. The first one and soulreaver 2 has the sound skipping problem as does blood omen. Defience has pretty nasty framerate drops with a lot of particles like dust when you break a wall or use magic. I forget when I bought them I think soulreaver I bought at the beginning of the year and the others during the summer so I dont qualify for a refund. That fine. The only thing that annoys me is that when I bought the game the problem where known for two years but not a word of warning on the gamepage. There still isn't. But if you look in the forums the problems have been Known for awhile. This is the only thing that bothers me. Hoping for a fix one day :-D
GOG just gets more awesome for each passing day.
One question.... when will paysafe work???
Shouldn't it be 30 days after finishing the rest of your backlog? Because it won't be before 2130 that I will find out the game I purchased today does not work.

Though jokes aside, it's a welcome change.

Yes, that's standard. It's so you can easily refer to that number when inquiring about your issue :)

As of right now, there's no one in the office but we should get to your ticket tomorrow :)
