Barny: I recently bought Dosbox Turbo for Android and tried to use it with GOG games, almost no luck. So if somebody succeeded, I would appreciate some help/hints/etc.
I try to explain my problem, based on Heroes of Might and Magic 2. At the end of the GOG-supplied dosbox config file, the autoexec section includes the mounting, etc. like this:
------------------
@ECHO OFF
mount C "."
imgmount d ".\homm2.inst" -t iso -fs iso
c:
cls
heroes2.exe
exit
-----------------
This homm2.inst file is not really an iso, but rather a text file full of link-like instructions to content like the audio tracks, etc. Although I substitute the path for the one, applicable for my tablet (e.g. /mnt/sdcard/blabla), dosbox doesn't mount the image file. Problem is, most of the games I'm interested to run, like SimCity 2k uses the same approach, mounting a not-really-iso file. It may work on windows, but doesn't work on android and cannot figure out why.
Thanks in advance, any hints appreciated!
Have you tried using the DosBox Manager? You setup a shortcut to the executable and it creates it's own conf file. Most of the common tweaks are adjustable within the manager (cycles, RAM, ect) and the rest can be changed by directly modifying the Conf files just like you normally would. It's also nice because when you open the app it gives you a bookshelf with images of floppy disks for your games, it's kinda like the GOG shelf.
