WebGL, no thanks. Call me when they use pure, hardware accelerated HTML5+JavaScript+CSS.

I'm not saying they should use HTML4. I'm saying they shouldn't use WebGL. If you read my post, I wrote 'HTML5'.

Either way, WebGL is not the part that I'm getting the most excited about atm as fency 3D graphics would be too time consuming for me to do on my own.
However, it warrant saying that even for a 3D engine that doesn't take advantage of hardware acceleration, computers are so powerful now that they can run yersterday's graphics, no problem, even without great 3D acceleration (this is certainly the case for my laptop, the video card sucks, but I can still play the games on GOG's catalog with no problems, thanks to the ample CPU/RAM that more than makeups for it).
Sure, you won't see the latest 3D technologies on a browser soon, but yesterday's 3D technologies are still stunning and will pave the way for some interesting web applications.
