Hi with the recent rant about "forcing" giveaway creators to add "giveaway" to the thread title, I had an idea, which I've seen on other forums. Since this Minority say it's only decent thing to add it to the Title of a new thread, I think it can only be described as a decent thing to do.

Here is me suggestion, adding tags to the beginning to threads you create:
[News] = News articles = [News] Rift going Free-to-Play
[Release] = Releases of some kind = [Release] The Chaos Engine Coming to Steam
[Steam] = For threads about Steam = [Steam] Steam National Pricing Scheme One Step Closer Being Utterly Ridiculus
[GOG] = For GOG threads we make = [GOG] How many of your GOG games have worked right "out of the box"?
[F-Game] = for Forum Games = [F-Game] Word Association Game
[Giveaway] = For Giveaways = [Giveaway] Ninja Giveaway

And GOG's staff can use the same if they feel like it
[GOG News] = For GOG related News = [GOG News] Weekend Promo: Amazing Stories
[GOG Pre-Order] = For GOG Pre-Orders = [GOG Pre-Oreder] Rise of the Triad
[GOG Release] = For Gog Releases = [GOG Release] Ultimate Body Blows
Well enough to start, but I think we should go beyond, adding (I'm taking your thread as example):

- [Category]: [Suggestions]
- [OP's Name]: [te_lanus]
- [Thread's Mood]: [Serious / Ironic / Humorous / etc]

[Reply] [Mischievous] So, here you go: [Suggestions] [An Idea] [Serious] [te_lanus] Some topic title sugestions. :P

More seriously, I don't wish to add more complexity to threads titles, if not necessary. ;)

[Comment] As long as it's optional. If it's liked by enough people it will become convention soon enough :D
This would be useful if there was a way to sort or filter threads by the these tags. It might be an option for GOG to keep the variety of General Discussion instead of creating subforums, if they'd use different colors or tags for different categories (like the orange and "Q" for questions) and then offered options to filter the forums by color/tags. Then again, judging by my experience with these forums, conventions seem to be made for breaking. We'd probably have more rant threads about new or stubborn forum users not using the tags and colors. ;)

Yes please. Allow us to filter all the steam out of this forum! It's far too humid in here. :-)

I think the "hide giveaway" script could easily be adapted to add all these keywords, thus you could set it up to hide steam threads, or Forum Games, or giveaways

+1
Something else I noticed recently. In the giveaways, put the expiration date at the end. Such as

[Giveaway] GameX (ends 6 July 2300GMT).
Let's just do away with the forum altogether and replace it with a shoutbox. :P
I was thinking more along the lines of "Lord of the Flies". Whoever has the Conch may speak, everyone else SHUT THE FUCK UP! :D
Suggestion to GOG: Adopt vBulletin as your forum software.
You forgot the [Not a giveaway] tag.

[Insincere endorsement] You have not experienced GOG until you have read him without tags
