PhoenixWright: Heh.
I guess I will pre-load it. I do like that free games have appeared on both this site and on Steam.

Petrell: Only problem with them appearing at steam is that you can't play them without getting steam mallware on your computer anymore :( so I do hope this does not become common practice. They should offer non-steam version as well.

Steam is NOT malware. It brings no harm to your computer, and it is a great way to get games.

It does however contain product activation, product deactivation, "phoning home", and other behaviors of DRM schemes. I personally would prefer that free games not be Steam exclusives. I have no interest in America's Army, but I'm not a Steam user and never will be.
This is personal decision however. I have no interest in a discussion about Steam. It's been covered in enough threads here before. There are those of us who choose not to participate, and those of us who do.
"Achievement unlocked: you've just installed and are currently using a very intrusive software on your computer just to play a free game. Now we're sure that your brain is ready to accept dumb american military propaganda. Congrats!"

TheCheese33: Steam is NOT malware. It's just an undesirable piece of junk posing as proper software, and it's a great way to get games if you're not an European.

Fixed :)
Achievement Unlocked: "If you're an European and you're still using Steam to get your games, you're a moron. Yay."

The game actually turned me off to the Army entirely. If they see combat as a video game, then I don't want to be fighting for them.

They are just training you to operate the next generation of DRONE SOLDIERS!!
just like they said in that episode of the simpsons.
I played it from 1.7 to 2.3.
I'm willing to give it another go. It's actually a decent game.
I figure I'm already paying for it with my tax dollars anyway...

As am I... but that's beside the point.
Maybe we can get our igloo parliament to approve funding to create Canada's Army...
