Because good lord how I miss animation like Fantasia, Looney Tunes, and Tom and Jerry. Traditional Animation reached its Zenith in the 90s. Look at this classic Micky Mouse short.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4vDoWoePKPg

Just look at how smooth the movements are. Everything looks beatifully animated. Now everything is just 3D CGI and Flash which is a cheap imitation of Traditional Animation. And though both are done well CGI has Pixar and Flash has works like MLP. I just find traditional much more artistic, samething for 2D Rotoscoping like the 60s Lord of the Rings film.

I find it sad that despite the internet offering multiple was for creators to show off their talent. I rarely see anyone doing Traditional Animation.

Again am I the only one who feels this way?
Besides the 2d I miss the funny stories and good music.

No, I feel the same way. I don't miss the old days out of nostalgia, I miss them because quality is quality and that's timeless:

I don't think it's so much about the animation style. There have been absolutely wonderful CGI movies - pretty much everything by Pixar (especially the Toy Story series, which are among the best animation films ever, but also Up, Wall-E and Finding Nemo), Shrek (at least the first two), Despicable Me and #9,

And then you have crap like much of what DreamWorks Animation chucks out. There have been a few standout titles - like the aforementioned Shrek 1&2 - but most of that particular studio's output is so cynically shareholder-commssioned and soulless that my heart just sinks when the kids in our family beg to watch crap like Madagascar or Over the Hedge. No kids - fart, burp and shit jokes are not funny (well, the monkey throwing poo jokes were quite funny, but that was more to do with the way the monkeys spoke - also, the Madagascar penguins were quite funny in short bursts).

The problem with CGI is not CGI. It's that CGI is much easier and much cheaper to produce, making CGI movie output financially much less risky. It attracts the vultures, the people that aren't trying to create a wonderful, charming story, but rather trying to establish children as a source of money.

You can create a wonderful art style with CGI in the same way you can with Disney-esque 2D drawings, but it needs a certain artistic flair that Universal and DreamWorks often seem to be lacking.

Really? Even though How to train your dragon 2 has been praised as the best dreamwoks film in awhile.

Unfortunately, one group did a shoddy translation of a press appearance by the head of Studio Ghibli and now every news outlet under the sun is reporting it as gospel. Studio Ghibli is not shutting down its production house.

Suzuki-san simply stated that, as a result of the most recent shareholders meeting, the studio will be doing some restructuring / "house cleaning" in order to minimize potential financial losses due to the retirement (for the third time, by the way) of Hayao Miyazaki. While this probably means that some employees of the production department will be laid off, it does not mean that Studio Ghibli will stop making films and other animation projects.

While this is certainly not positive news, it is not a kiss of death. Many successful companies have to do this from time to time in order to appease their shareholders.
What I miss are the famous Disney series : Gummi Bears, DuckTales, Gooftroop, Talespin and Darkwing Duck. Luckily there are so many of them that by only watching one episode every other night I won't easily get tired of them. Cartoon Network also had some great series, but that channel seems to have gone downhill fast :( They had some awesome shows: Dexter's lab, Powerpuff girls, Courage the cowardly dog, Johnny Bravo, Samurai Jack, Cow and Chicken, Ed Edd and Eddy (my favorite!), and even Mike Lu and Og; Cramp Twins had their moments. These days though, I don't know what's going on. I seems that kids of the 1980s, 1990s and early 2000s had it best when it came to tv shows.

Isn't pretty much all anime "traditional animation" I mean I know it's all done on computers these days but I don't know many shows that even use CGI (well there was Sidonia no Kishi recently).

Cow and Chicken aged poorly for me and I never cared for Mike Lu and Og, it looked like something for Nickelodeon.

Billy and Mandy was funny and so was Codenamed: Kids Next Door, this was my fav episode:

Even some anime uses CGI, but makes it look like 2D animation like this:
