Seriously, why must every thread with anything related to do with D2D/Steam/games with DRM degrade into DRM FUCKING SUCKS and whatnot?

Indeed. I look forward to the day that the GOG staff finally have enough and immediately ban anyone who whines on about DRM when all people want to do is discuss the damn game.
As it is, I never did get into Alpha Prime. The controls always felt a little too floaty for my liking. But I'll get back to it one day and try to get through it.

I heard one of the gripes about it was that it was too generic and that's why it was given a mediocre score. I'll try it one day, but D2D never likes me so I guess I'm not buying it from them.
Also it seems that D2D is going crazy with price drops (GTA 4 now $30 for example) so that's a good thing.

Well the D2D sale has now end so your best bet is to wait and get in the Steam year end sale (if they have one this year). I wouldn't be surprised if it was sold for around the same price as D2D's sale or perhaps even for only $0.99.

Yeah, I think that nobody should buy anything from Steam until the sale (unless it's a really awesome deal) because you know there's going to be some cool deals right there.

Indeed. Right now, I'm only interested in the weekend deals. Serious Sam HD comes out soon, but I'm not wasting my time on the 10% off Pre-order deal as it'll probably get 15 to 20 off (if we're lucky) during the year end sale.
The end of a year is a really stupid time to release new games on Steam =)

Michael leung, I was asked about DRM, that's why i answered.
Steam's year-end sale last year was epic, I expect nothing less from them this year. I might have to break my embargo!

You weren't specifically asked about it. Even if you were, who the hell cares? If we all just stopped talking about DRM for once and instead about the subject at hand, maybe this forum would be a lot happier and whatnot. Jesus.

A-Pock: Steam uses a woping 5-20MB of ram and virtually no CPU to run (unless it's installing/decrypting a game obviously). I'm sorry but I honestly don't understand the "steam is a resource hog argument". It's not, stop whinnying.

I'd advise you to learn more about the people you're referring to before you start assuming it is or isn't whining. I have a mere 1GB of RAM. Most modern games require a 1GB of RAM as minimum, and the extra programs running in the background can, have, and will cause slow-downs and other complications.
I cannot afford a new computer at this time, and because of the sheer age of the computer I have now, adding more RAM simply isn't an option do to the difficulty in find the right type let alone the cost and the fact that I don't have the technical knowledge to properly upgrade my computer by myself.
I'm just lucky my copy of Bioshock is a hard copy and requires no silly background crap, and that I could play it on low-to-medium settings most of the time.

EDIT: And to Micheal and Bansama, who seemed so intent on shifting the conversation back to the game, you sure didn't talk about it long before going back to the digital distrinuters conversation again. So stop being hypocrites.

+1 for being totally correct. Though if you have a slow PC in the first place, the Steam Community thing WILL slow your computer down a bit. Like one time I ran Far Cry on Steam and it was damned slow (the laptop was terrible anyway) but on GOG's version it was fine. Still, simply disabling Community will probably fix that.
