Feyling: And for the book, I once read "I, Robot" from Isaac Asimov which contains other short stories too, that was really cool.
You ever read "Earth is Room Enough" ? That's probably Asimov's best short-stories volume.

Hi, thanks for the giveaway and +1 for it.

My favorite Sci-fi novel is.... well, I'm not really into books/novels so I guess it would be the only one I've read: Wing Commander: Freedom Flight. And I only read it because I'm a huge fan of Wing Commander Series.

Ok, my favorite Sci-Fi movie is.... Hmm, it's hard to choose one, but for those who never saw anything like Matrix before, just watch The 13th Floor and/or Dark City. Which reminds me, maybe I'll say Equilibrium. Too many good Sci-fi movies, however, I'll go with Idiocracy. Just because I believe it actually predicts our future.

BTW, count me in :)

Changed my mind, best sci-fi movie is Tron.

Will read now you said that, if I stumble upon.
Sci-fi book: Endymion + The Rise of Endymion
Sci-fi movie: uhm... while I'm very clear on my favourite sci-fi book, making up my mind about a movie is more difficult...
Gattaca, 12 Monkeys, Wall-E, Robocop, Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie, Flash Gordon...
i would have mention Omega Man but Soylent Green is my fav.

& Peter Weller is the man. i also heavily enjoyed Leviathan.

Cowboy Bebop is excellent but it isnt epic like Akira is. i fucking love that movie. but Cowboy Bebop is excellent for its characters.

Book: Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card. (Spelling could be wrong here.)
Movie: Gattaca/. (So. SAD. I get big man tears every time I think about it.)/ Fifth Element (Just plain awesome.)
I'm in!! It's hard to pick a favourite, but here are some that are high up on my list.

Movie: Star Trek 2: Wrath of Khan, 2001: A Space Odyssey, or Dune (1984)

As a side note, I always thought 2112 by Rush would have made for a good sci-fi film.
