Abrakadabra!
Seriously, it's like calling everyone autistic or ADHD when they're actually not. It's bullshit and devalues the impact for those who actually have an actual disease and actually do need help.
That's like calling half the people earning six figures in my state "potheads that will never amount to anything". Lots of people use chemicals for a whole host of reasons and always have. It's a much smaller subset of people who have issues with it.
Your brain operates on chemicals anyway, you drug yourself automatically when someone laughs at your joke, yells at you, or you see an attractive person. Yet we have this weird hangup about anyone who uses chemicals despite holding down a job, raising their family, and all the other "good" things people are supposed to do.
FWIW I would happily agree with you if you stated alcohol is the source of more misery in the US than all other drugs combined. Due to its overwhelming use (due to being one of the few, legal drugs) from my research shows that would be largely true.

Big Trouble in Little China is the best movie ever. Especially drunk with friends.
Apocalypse Now is the scariest movie ever. Especially high with friends.

I just finished cleaning up about sixty pages of final submissions for my graduate program summative assessments, and so far I've got a perfect "exceeds expectation" score in all the categories of our rubric that we've covered. I have about an hour of work I can't finish 'til tomorrow, and the semester's done.
I just found out my next student teaching placement is ten minutes away, instead of an hour commute, and the school's excited I'm coming.
Ahead of me, in the next week or so, Skyrim (PS3) gets patched, Terraria's next edition comes out, and Dr. Who's season six may arrive on Netflix Instant Play.
Life...Life is good. :D

Were silent, then Heather snapped her fingers.
“Of course!” she said. “We can call on the help of that most benign and magical of all creatures, the Jet Stream!”

I just stuffed a 3rd operating system on my notebook.
So far it has:
Windows 7 Starter
JoliOS
Ubuntu
I am trying to find a decent Linux distro that will use my netbook efficiently to run some of the older Windows-based GOGs without stuttering and slowdowns. Right now, I am cruising around in Ubuntu and trying out various things like installing packages via therminal. I love the fact that there are distros you can install alongside Windows because I have only a 3g internet connection and if I just up and chucked Windows out the door I would be screwed with internet access :D

Logitechs are probably the most reliable mice I've seen, and they certainly have the longest warranties I know of, so whichever model it is, it's likely to be bombproof. Good choice.

Thought this might be a good place to share some thoughts and feelings, so here they are:
<3 GOG - I live in Cambodia, and so far this is the only site I've found that will let me legally purchase games online. That's a big deal to me, and I'm massively grateful for it (though can't believe it took me this long to find it). In the 1 month since I've joined, I've purchased games that made me happy throughout my childhood to relive the memories, and discovered other great games that I never even knew existed. I'm also really happy to see that the weekend promo deals don't just apply to crap games, there have been some real gems almost every week since I joined.
</3 Steam - I see everyone else talking about it a lot here, so here's my two cents: I despise Steam with every fibre of my being. I first tried to join a few years ago. The site allowed me to join, even allowed me to PAY for products, then when I tried to download them, they basically told me to go live somewhere else. When I buy a product from GOG, I actually feel like I own something. It seems to me, that with steam, all you are paying for is access to their service, sometimes, depending on where you live or happen to be when you want to play the game you've paid top dollar for. I feel utterly discriminated against. I work hard for my money, love my games, and unlike most people I know, I actually want to pay for them, yet they won't let me. Steaming pile of crap.
Left handed gaming mouse - I want one. Yep, that's right, not only do I live in Cambodia, but I'm also left handed, which apparently makes me a terrible customer to provide for. What I'm looking for is something like the Razer Naga; lots of mappable buttons, ergonomic, etc. Sadly there is no left handed version of it, nor is there a left handed version of anything like it that I've seen. If anyone knows of one, please tell me.
My user name - Like, I guess I messed up when I opened my account, and wasn't planning on using it as much as I am. If I was, I'd have used a handle instead of my name. I'm guessing there's no way to change it now, but if there is, someone please let me know.
That's all I have to rant about today, thanks for reading.
