I've got so many games, so many amazing games even, but I just can't make myself to turn any of them, because I have so many of them.

The duck's wrong with me. (Except that extraordinary rhyming.)

DrIstvaan: I feel your pain... In late July, I had to replace my games HDD. Fortunately, I was prepared as I saw the bad sector count grow ever higher, so I made backups of most of my save games, but it took quite some time, and also, only later did I find out I forgot about some games.
Now I regularly check my HDDs' state, and I advise you to do the same to avoid such incidents in the future.
Here's the funny thing: The drive was in good shape according to SMART itself. I didn't lose any data, ever - it just looks like the power and motor are going out.

I looked at the drive and noticed a tiny tiny chip off the power connector is gone. You know how it looks like ----|, right? Well, the | is partly broken off. I dunno how it happened, but the electrical components are still intact... hopefully this won't cause Seagate to void my warranty.

SimonG: That explains a lot. I was getting quite used to the "Foxhack is playing Dungeons of Dredmor" Steam popup. I could swear that I once saw it followed up by a little "again".

You're addicted! ;-P
Guilty.

Actually, thanks to this problem I can start doing work again. So it's not all bad. :P

Ah, I see. Then it's indeed a case of "sudden death". The only thing to minimize damage from such occurrences is backing up saved games and any important data regularly.
I feel pretty old looking at some of these games and realizing I bought them when they first came out. Can't thank GoG enough for bringing them up high enough I can finally quit fiddlin' with the 386 to play some of them.

I can think of a few more I would love to see her but have no clue who to suggest it to

Welcome to GOG and the fora, DCSullivan!
It's always good to see a new member appreciate the treasure trove that is GOG :-).
As for suggestions for games, we can't have that much of an effect on what games get actually released, but you can always vote for your suggested games on the wishlist (it doesn't mean much, but still).

I wouldn't call it sudden... I've been having problems since June. I just thought it was another drive giving me problems.
And Windows 7 lives again!

I fished out a 640 GB Caviar Black I had in storage, cloned the boot partition to it, then spent four hours trying to figure out why it wouldn't boot. I didn't know you had to mark a partition as "active" for it to work...

I'm copying the contents of the games drive to the new one with a USB enclosure. As soon as this finishes I'm sending it in for replacement.
So, Origin just decided they won't deliver a laptop to Cambodia (and Alienware already said the same thing).

I'm now thinking of waiting until the Razer Blade comes out (supposedly in January), getting it shipped to a friend in the US, then having him ship it to me. However, I'm a little hesitant to get a laptop from a company that's never built laptops before, and there is still no confirmed release date, so not sure if it's really worth waiting for (though it does look very, very cool).

Any thoughts?

Why are you buying an Alienware to begin with?

Well, evidently I'm not :( I was thinking about it because the only negative things I'd heard related to their customer service, and given my physical location, I won't get customer service no matter who I buy from anyway.

Then when they refused to ship it here, I looked into getting a laptop from Origin, but first they said they wouldn't ship it here, then they said they would but it would cost around $900 USD for shipping, which is absurd for a laptop.

I found the Razer Blade after someone on this thread pointed me to a left handed gaming mouse, also by Razor. The laptop itself looks pretty amazing, but I need one asap and it's a bit disconcerting to be waiting for something that doesn't have a firm release date, especially given that it will be Razer's first shot at making laptops.

My question was more like "Why not buy it locally? It might be cheaper."

Then again, that isn't always the case... I see laptops and desktops sell for twice the US price down here.
Yay for new avatar!

I've been living here for about 10 years, in that time I've bought 4 laptops locally, and each time it has been a terrible experience. The first time, I spent over $2k on a Sony Vaio that turned out to be a Phony Vaio (it died after a couple of months, the shop I got it from didn't exist anymore, and when I opened it up, it was full of generic Chinese parts and not a Sony logo in sight). Other times I got what I paid for, but it was all terrible. There are no high quality brands here, so when I want something nice, I have to get it shipped in.

Do you happen to have any opinion on the Razer? As you may be able to tell from the above info, it seems I'm not great at picking out laptops on face value.

Oh, and in the rare instances where this stuff is locally available, it's always more expensive than just buying it abroad and getting it shipped here :(

I am enjoying my Roland Sound Canvas MIDI module I purchased for playing my classic PC games that utilize the MIDI standard and as a synthesizer to utilize with my Casio keyboard that doesn't really sound good to me.
