So today I got the news that steam has just released Alien vs Predator 2000 classic. I loved this game, and I think I might hold off to see if GOG will get the same game or not. I'm relatively new to GOG though, so does anyone know if this happens very often if at all? (Where a game comes out on other digital distribution platform and then is released on GOG).

If gog get the deal. ;) It doesn't happen very often, but Steam and gog do have some games in common.

Kind of like how Steam got Bloodrayne, Fallout, MDK, and the such right after GOG got em?
Yeah I only recently came across GOG (about a month or so ago) and I love it. My preference is to get the game off GOG then off impulse (if no GOG) then off steam. But steam seems to get a lot of games first although there are a few that end up on some of these other sites first which is always a good thing.

Understandable. Oh, and be very careful using...the S word.
If you are too impatient to play that game, then go for the steam version. Nothing is telling us that gog will add the game in their catalog and you could wait forever for it.

Well, then I should have said "I don't know if it happens very often".

Does multiplayer matter to you? Since the devs will be reenabling mutiplayer later (something to do with a specific game matching service that failed if I remember correctly), you might as well make the decision when the patch is out, that way it gives GOG more time to possibly get it
It's $5 for AVP 2000 on Steam.
If GOG got it, the most you would have to pay is $10.
Just get it, and if it comes out for GOG, get it again. $15 isn't going to break the bank, and IMO, the game is worth more than $15.
Yeah $15 isn't bad to pay, I mean I have CIV 4 on both steam and Impulse (of course my brother uses one to play some multiplayer with me but still). I actually already went ahead and purchased it since I asked this question. I would personally rather give my money to GOG for their stuff as I like their service more. If they do get the multiplayer working the having 2 copies at a minimum is a must.
Wraith I liked you answer too, so I marked it.

Youre wrong about Bloodrayne, as it was one of the first games not published by Valve to be sold on Steam.

Dang, i just noticed this is a dead thread, lol. Sorry.

Damn this is old...lol.
It's been on GamersGate for quite a while already and for the same low price. I think I bought it for even less in a sale last year. Maybe GOG doesn't sell it because even at $5.99 they couldn't compete with the others. ;)
It doesn't have such a nice forum to troll in, that's for sure.

It's been on DotEmu for ages.

Oh yeah, right, and I assume that means GOG would have no trouble acquiring it too if they really wanted to.
