Not sure if I want to enter, if I do, I'll edit this post later, but I just wanted to mention how I'm liking the sudden explosion of song/poem/rhyme stuff. It gets the creative juices flowing.

Sadly, I can't make anything for this at the moment due to being swamped with work... but I wanted for ages an excuse to post in this forum a certain video I did, so thanks for giving me one!

Very interesting idea for a contest. I'm a bit sad there haven't been more entries already. A couple of questions though:
1. Does the song have to have lyrics in them or can it be an instrumental?
2. Does the song have to be created solely for this contest or can it already exist?
3. Can I post more than one song if I can't decide which one to pick?

I might post something later.

Great idea for a contest, albeit a little discriminatory towards those who are follically challenged. I'd like to submit this photograph of my partner's father and myself. He is sporting a fine beard in the attached photo and whilst I am wearing one too, it can barely be seen from behind. I hope this entry suffices, but as you appear to preference the written word judging by your comment of "Come and show us your best song, poem or story", I'll see what I can whip up another time :)

2. You can post any song/poem/story you have created, performed or modified, and it doesn't need to be created just for this contest, you can use something you've created in the past.

On a cold winter night
Under the moon's dim light
On his quest a warrior embarks.

There is no one in sight
But he's ready to fight
For he knows the danger that lurks.

And then, all at once
A thug makes entrance:
A horrible vision to tell!

"Gimme your stuff and money,
Or I'll take them myself, honey,
And your life with them as well!"

Swords flash in the dark
Blades clangor and spark
And soon they are coloured in red.

Then amidst all the clash
With a yell and a crash
The brigand falls down: he's dead!

Still struck in exhaustion
Hero drinks a blue potion
And all his health comes back;

Not giving a hoot
He then takes his loot:
Much gold to fill his sack,

The scalp and a mace -
It's time to find space
For that stuff in the inventory!

Away he then walks
And this, my dear folks,
Is how I will end my short story!

Little Girl and a Dandelion
It’s the beginning of spring. Little girl is walking along the path at the edge of town. She’s sad, her parents were fighting and she run away from home. As she walks she’s getting close to a lonely shabby house. On untidy lawn in front of that house lies a single dandelion, gently swaying in the breeze. She stops and picks the dandelion, her eyes focused on it like she’s giving that flower all the attention of the world. After couple of minutes spent in the company of the dandelion a shy smile appeared on the edge of her face. Light rain is starting to fall. Its time to head back.

Okay, thanks for clarifying this! I decided to put this one as my entry: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/135436/DiseasedProject/NaForaoise_NaMoineir.mp3 as it is at least a little bit traditional-ish of the stuff I've composed, I think: therefor better suitable for a bardic contest, rather than some metal song or whatever. The clip was originally made in August 2011 for a themed "competition" among friends: we used to have a club where we would have to create something for a theme that would change each month, then give feedback to each other.

I suppose I'm in for the giveaway as well, but only for the $5.99 GOG prize if it's okay, since I already own all the other available games!

Thanks a lot VampiroAlhazred for a great concept for a contest giveaway. I would like to be in for Gemini Rue (Steam) with the very first poem I ever wrote when I was still in school, so naturally its not really that good. :)
