After it was supposed to come out on PC and Xbox at the same time, then they said, 'oh, we'll release it on Xbox first' and then saying the PC version was cancelled, they decide to release it. About. Fucking. Time. I first heard about it in CGW, years ago.

So much bitterness about this on other forums. Personally I'm happy to see it coming... looks like a good game and I don't have any consoles.

People whine about anything. Honestly if you can afford a computer these days you can afford one of the current gen consoles (not you specifically, since you're not complaining). To me it's like bitching that Pokemon games only come out on Nintendo consoles, just weird.

Though I may be a bit of a hypocrite as I'm still pissed at CliffyB for Gears of War 2, but honestly it had more to do with how he did it, what he said, and it being on the heals of him screwing us over on UT3.

Mostly a time issue for me. I don't have the time to play all the PC games I want to, let alone throwing consoles into the mix, or god forbid handhelds. Also I don't want to devote even more attention and energy to gaming than I already do. Money is a factor I guess in the sense that suddenly I have a lot more software I could buy... it's not the price of the consoles themselves.

I'm not really a "gamer" in a general sense. I am a fan of PC RPGs and shooters, with some adventure games thrown in here and there. I don't really think that many people are devoted gamers in the sense of having to play everything.

Aw, I picked it up on the 360 because I was certain it was going to stay there. Well, the control scheme actually works very well, so I'm not too miffed.

Superb game if you haven't played it; I should round up the DLC some day soon.

EDIT: Fixed a sentence two months later. Go figure.

Part of the problem is that it was announced as being released on PC (part of me insists it was going to be a PC exclusive, but I'm not certain), that then was announced to be a PC/Xbox release, and then it was just an Xbox release, but they might consider a PC release in the future. It's great that it's coming out on PC now, but I think there's still a bit of resentment towards them.

Out of curiosity, how did we get screwed over on UT3? I don't think I heard this story.

A lot of us bought multiple copies (for us and friends, we were promised a Linux server and support, equal to or better than UT2004, what we got was a buggy mess that they refused to patch, the Linux server never materialized, etc. etc. Then they had the gall to pretend it was our fault. It was almost like they wanted to kill their own game, it was surreal.

PROBABLY you can afford it and then again is it really worth it for just one game?

People were upset because they ignored the public that made them big, the PC crowd with Max Payne 1&2.

As you said with Epic, almost the same thing.

Most of all it would not surprise me if the game failed now. So much time has passed that people forgot about it and there is still a risk of getting a half-assed port.

Hopefully they won't fall in the trap that other companies (I'm looking at you, Rockstar) do of releasing their year old game for full price.

If I have to wait an extra year to buy your game, I'm not going to pay a new release price for it. I'll wait for it to drop to a reasonable level (and by that point, I'm usually willing to wait for it to hit $5).
