FYI, All console games start life as a PC game using a console SDK with console controllers. I doubt if console games are played at all on a real console until latter in the development.
Also, Dragon Age was initially designed with the PC only in mind, as the console wasn't considered until later in development due pressure from Microsoft and Sony.

Any publisher that uses those sale statistics as an example would be an idiot. I'm not calling you an idiot. I'm merely calling you on using an obviously flawed example to make whatever point you think you have.
The PC version of MW2 was a joke. People avoided it because, even when compared to its prequel, it sucked. IW just threw out a shoddy massively overpriced console port. Subsequently the sales on PC are actually quite impressive.
The percentage of PC sales Modern Warfare had reflects this, being far, far higher. Still in third place. But a market well worth catering for all the same.

Where's that link of the picture of the PC version of the game giving an Xbox Live error... GfWL was nowhere near it, for Pete's sake.

Those are only retail numbers. Most PC games sales and DLC are direct form internet now. Online sales aren't tallied. However, I'm not disputing that MW2 sold better on the console.

The fact that sales figures never include online sales is a suspicious one. Considering that Valve boasted record pre-orders for MW2 you have to wonder what the REAL final figure is. I would suspect that companies that track sales figures are pressured by MS and Sony to only use retail sales figures for the explicit reason of making the PC look bad.
The fact is the retail market for PC's has always been tiny but now it's dwindling thanks to services like Steam, Gamersgate, D2D and yes even Impulse. PC gamers are simply far more at home shopping online than console gamers are, especially when the game is downloaded straight to your HDD. Given the fact that EA, Atari and other publishers are now opening online stores and investing quite a bit of money in them shows the PC market is not dying it is simply changing and moving away from the traditional retail model.
Until companies include PC sales from all digital distribution services in their charts then assume the given PC sales are a fraction of what they actually are.

Actually, one of the main reasons why online sales aren't tracked is fairly simple...all retail sales are typically done on a regional basis. Look at NPD numbers when they're released. You have North American sales reports, European sales reports, UK sales reports, Australian sales reports, and so on. For them to track online sales, it would have to be regionalized in the same way for the numbers to mesh up. So, until all of the online retailers start dividing up their stats in such a manner, it's not going to appear on sales reports.
Also, last I checked half of them were reporting sales as the actual number of sales while the other half were reporting sales based on revenue.
It doesn't have much (if anything) to do with some conspiracy to 'make the PC look bad'.

I'm talking about worldwide sales. When a publisher wants to look impressive they mention worldwide sales, same goes for console sales when they talk about x amount of units sold worldwide.

My point stands. Consoles use worldwide sales figures and yet the PC cannot use online sales. That is simply not a level playing field as I would argue that the larger portion of PC sales are done online these days. It's easy to make a format look bad when you selectively chop out the majority of it's sales.

Dunno. But GFWL has virtually no identity of its own. It's more like an Xbox Live plugin than anything. Which is why that doesn't surprise me.

Therefore like I said it's not a level playing field as a huge number (possibly the majority) of PC games are not counted which is convenient. It means basically that you either take the PC sales figures as gospel which is completely wrong or you don't count them at all.
No one can even try and count the amount of PC sales there are because as you said and to quote Danny Glover "You're cutting off my dick and shoving it up my ass". Microsoft, Sony and all the others can say that the PC is dying and point to sales of only 200k for MW2 but as soon as someone mentions online sales they can reply that they don't count.

I thought KoTOR was a bit overrated but still a great game... Jade Empire I never played... Mass Effect, Dragon Age and Mass Effect 2 are all masterpieces.
Anyway my point was more that you criticize my priorities about games but you are the one harping on minor interface issues. Is Bioshock a worse game for having console elements in it? Maybe, probably every game would be better on PC if actually devoloped solely for PC and based on the newest hardware, but that does not mean Bioshock is not an amazing game, or that it is better on console, because it isn't.
On PC we get to play some great exclusives, every game ever released on the platform, as well as the best versions of current multi-platform games. Call me crazy but I think that makes the PC the best platform available.

You can't quote PC sales figures, they don't exist. Those sites guess and they guess based on partial retail data, not even all retail data, and they completely ignore digital sales which are probably half the PC market now. They are also all US numbers usually, the NPD certainly is.
Modern Warfare launched strong on PC according to Infinity Ward, selling more than CoD4 in the same timeframe. It has been near the top of Steam's top ten sellers list every single day since it launched even during massive weekend sales.
Modern Warfare sold well on the PC, much more than 200,000 units. Did the Xbox versions still sell more? Yes, yes it did, a lot more probably, but the PC version sold quite a lot as well, probably at least 1-2 million, which is 120 million dollars and not chump change to be tossed away.
