Going for another remake of LSL is incredibly lazy. I would be a lot more sympathetic toward this project if they had decided to make a new game instead of a remake. Also, their goal of $500,000 seems way too high and the reward levels are not that appealing. I will probably pledge $15 or $25, although I expect this Kickstarter to fail.

StingingVelvet: If he had done this as actually making 4, a new game, that would have generated a lot of hype and stories about them skipping that number before.
Exactly, this would have been the perfect opportunity to finally make the missing LSL4 more than 20 years later.

so a remake of a remake as there was already a vga remake.

mwah not interested to play again.
I've been following the game, awesome!
Hope it will be featured on GOG :)
Yadda Yadda Yadda

Shut up and take my money!
Ok, THIS is good news!
P.S. Oops just saw this was a remake instead of a brand new game. Still, I think reviving the "humorous point-and-click" adventures in all possible ways is a good thing.

This just seems all very lazy. A second remake, nothing new here other than graphics and voice?

For more than Double Fine was asking for, for a totally new adventure?

I just don't see the value proposition here.

I agree. If they were making a new game I'd have backed it without thinking twice but we already have a Larry 1 remake and it's perfectly playable on mobiles with scummvm. I can live without voice acting.

I can't see the point of adventure game remakes for anyone that has already played the game in the first place, which is presumably the target market with Kickstarter. We already know all the solutions and all the jokes. With Al Lowe and Josh Mandel teamed up again, retreading old ground seems like a completely wasted opportunity.

I wouldn't call it pefectly playable. SCUMMVM needs still a lot of work with UI in touch screen devices, especially on those that have no buttons. The workarounds are clunky at best and the devs known it too. While they will get it done, it will still take some time.

Personally I am fully okay with bringing these old classics back in a remade form to new platforms. I gladly pay the 15 bucks for it, but not more. Besides it would be the first time I'd acutally paid money for Larry, I am shamed to say, so take it as a penance as well.

And before anything else, I've played Larry 1 through with my own Android tablet. Playable, yes, but very clunky at places.

Made the same mistake in the Kickstarter projects thread.
Still think it's interesting, will see.
Al Lowe looks like a fun person to hug. I want to hug him.

Softly. Slowly.

You can get your wish if you pledge $10,000.
There are too many kickstarters lately. Hard to tell on which one I should throw my money.

Next time we will say Fallout 3: Van Buren or soemthin?

And what about Al Lowe? What did he do with all the money he earn on first 6 games?!
