OOC: Sweet! Also does the northeast

"My lady are you sure we can't not have some sort of compromise were some of people can stay here?" Lucas began to say eloquent tongue,"We have nearly hundred or so people waiting for me and companions to clear these lands. I'm sure we can work something out."

There is an clearing to e7 (south) where you spot the ropes. You can climb this rope to encounter the children in the treetops. On the other hand, you may prefer to simply move on.... it is, of course, your choice (and that of the party.)
OOC: I thought I'd already moved/acted this round? I'd like to move (unnoticed) to F7 either way, but if I can still act I'd switch to the longbow in preparation for the next round.

Phil watched as Lucas made for the rope, climbing up as fast as he could. The children's yelling drowned out the quiet sounds of the forest and made Phil slightly worried that it would allow someone to sneak up on him. On the other hand, he thought, anyone hearing all that noise would probably come crashing through the woods, giving him ample time to prepare for a surprise attack - or just sit tight, out of sight.

He didn't quite catch Lucas' words, and the behaviour of the bossy, little girl puzzled him a little. Phil didn't want to fight the children. He wasn't a soft-hearted fool, but he never killed anything without a reason. Hunting for food, self-defense and revenge gave him enough opportunities as it were.

OOC: You did already move. I was just letting you know for the future :)

I'll count this for the next round if you like.

A young boy taps the girl on her shoulder, whispering in her ear.

"Now wait just a moment," she says, "If I said the words, "Curse the monkey god!," would that have any meaning to you?

OOC: Wait until the next round before you reply. I'll end the round and begin a new one.

OOC: Ah, ok. The reference to E7 being to the south confused me a little.

OOC: No thanks, I'm not yet entirely sure what to do next. (The text was more of a "IC filler" than anything else.)
Arkades moves Northeast. He casts "Bless" on Lucas. (Runehamster, you can jump back in whenever you want.) Lucas now has increased strength for 10 rounds.

HP UPDATE:

Lucas: 50/54 (Bless: Increased strength, 10 rounds)
VIr: 41/41
Arkades: 42/42
Phil Harper: 51/51

New round:

Lucas: move up to 2 and act (you can just use this turn to talk a bunch more, if you want.)
Vir: move up to 2 and act
Arkades: move up to 2 and act
Phil: move up to 3 and act

OOC: Map updated. Phil, would you like me to count what you just said as your move for this round? Sorry for the confusion.

Ok, cool. Love the RP. I'm going to edit all these down into stories and share them at some point, so that's great stuff to have. :)

"Ummm, I'm sorry I do not know a monkey god my lady," Lucas replied, "Can you please enlighten me?"

Lucas began thinking to himself, "Hell I don't even know what the go my mother told to worship. I'm just a freelance knight who just enjoys to sleep with woman, organize treaties if need be, and fight if I really need to. I hate fighting, too much energy used up, and I can get hurt. But then again I could have a gorgeous woman tending to me. I should reevaluate the potential of getting a gorgeous nurse if I get wounded in combat."

"Interesting," she giggles, "heh...if you were one of them, no way you would have let that slide. Alright then, state your business stranger. What brings you here and who are these hundred people you speak of?"

The group behind her looks on in confusion.

(OOC: You can reply for awhile, as it's a new turn.)

Remaining turns:
Vir: move up to 2 and act
Arkades: move up to 2 and act
Phil: move up to 3 and act

OOC: Sorry, I usually check this in the evenings, not sure how I missed two turns. Damn, I would have liked to help out in the negotiations.

Arkades raised one hand from the back of the group, pushing his hood back from his head. His graying hair stuck up in a wild shock, and his eyes twinkled as he called out. "Good day to you, little one. I am Father Le'Minz, but you may call me Arkades. I am a servant of the Light, a healer, and these people behind me are under our protection." He gestured to his comrades to sheath their weapons and relax. "Will you lower your blade, young warrior, and speak with us as equals?"

He examined them for a moment, and decided to take advantage of a weakness all children share. OOC: Using influence, by the way. "I think we might be able to feed you and your friends, if you are hungry? Peace talks are best made with a good meal to warm your belly."

It's cool. No big deal.

[[The kids are up in the trees. I doubt Father Arkades wants to climb up there, right?]]]

"One of your people?" she asks Lucas, pointing down at Arkades.

"You there," she says to Arkades, shouting down from the tree, "Rations are most welcome here, but there is no need for peace talks. We have no quarrel with you, provided you are not with... them."

The young boy behind her whispers in her ear. She rubs her chin for a second, then shouts once more at Arkades:

"Curse your monkey god!"

She waits to see your reaction to that expression.

[Arkades and Lucas can continue chatting with the girl this round while we await the moves of Vir and Phil]

Remaining turns:
Vir: move up to 2 and act
Phil: move up to 3 and act
Arkades raised an eyebrow. "Monkey god...?" He called up again to the girl, pointing to his cane. "I think if I served a 'monkey god' he'd see fit to make me just a bit more agile, child. No, the Light has nothing to do with a monkey god, nor do these people. We are newcomers to the area." The cleric was growing tired of shouting. "Lucas, can you see if your new diplomatic contact will come down to the ground?"
The girl signals to her allies.

"Seize him," she orders, pointing at Lucas. Though he struggles, Lucas is forced to relent as seven of them grab him and bind his wrists.

They climb down to the ground, cut the bands from Lucas' wrists and shove him in Arkades' direction.

Several of them hold clubs at the ready. The little girl still grasps tightly to her shortsword, though it is now down by her side.

"I have little time for games, old man. Speak your business here." She glances at Arkades, then back to Lucas, waiting for a reply.

(Lucas and Arkades may each say/ask one more thing, then we have to wait for the next round.)

Remaining turns:
Vir: move up to 2 and act
Phil: move up to 3 and act

"He is with me," Lucas said and he quickly follows up with asking who the heck is this monkey god. "I mean seriously can you please elaborate on who they are. Me and my group are just an advance party to clear out the ruins. You see how city was destroyed and we are looking for a place to settle. That is all."

"Also is it asking too much for us to continue this speech on the ground. Because the old man is well...old and not very fast or agile. Definitely not agile."

(OOC: LOL it seems we were posting at the same time.)

The girl rubs her palms together. "Clear out the city, eh? Oh, you are most welcome to stay here in the old town... as long as you don't enter the woods. But you will have to do a little something for us. March with us against the barbaric cult to the north. You will never be safe with them around, anyway. What do you say?"

(Arkades may speak once more before the round ends.)

OOC: It seems so. Also Runehamster can you agree on my behalf?
OOC: Phil and Vir, if either (or both) of you guys enter the square with the tree bridge, I'll consider it a given that Lucas and Arkades have filled you in on the details of this discussion, so you can jump right in and speak.

Failing that, you're free to remain elsewhere just in case things go.... sour.
