MrWilli: "Well in that case," Lucas thought to Vir.
"My dear lady can you tell me about Celestial Sovereignty? I am quite curious how it involves a monkey," Lucas began asking Kafara.
"Hah," she says, "Are you interested in joining up, young man? I should say, some truths cannot be disclosed to the uninitiated.
"But this much I can say: ancient Oma relics tell of a time where all the elements of the world were set against each other. This world you would not recognize, for it was long before humanoids took their first breath.
"All the species of this world are the descendents of one element or more: humanoids of the earth, the great beings of the sea are of the water, the dragons are of fire and air, the drakes of both water and fire and so on.
"The relics tell of a time when a force of primal evil (which goes unnamed) attempted to merge all of the elements into a mighty weapon of limitless power. At that time, many of our ancestors, whether or water or air, or fire or earth, fought together in one grand coalition to thwart this wicked deed.
"The monkey, what you people call a 'monkey', rather, was one of the great representatives of the power of the earth. It is his efforts which saved this world and paved the way for the birth of humanoids.
"The records say no more. However, we infer that the conflict distorted the fabric of all reality, creating with it an alternate world... one in which the weapon has been created. There, in that world, there exists all the same beings as in this one... but they have been corrupted. This explains the existence of the primitives. They are the same as us in many ways, but they exist in a world where the lust for power is the norm, not the exception.
"We have learned that some of these... 'monkeys', as you refer to them, retain traces of the genetics that our mighty ancestors of the earth had. Not many of them have these genes, only a few... and we have found one.
"Here in the forest of Northport, we have discovered the plant which unlocks this ancient power. When our ancestor consumes it, his strength returns. This is why we had to secure the plant: for it was the only way to finally drive the primitives from the city.
"Moving forward, we must continue to harvest the plant. We must continue to unlock the secrets that our ancestor holds. He will protect us.
Kafara squints, and whispers melodramatically, "What you have witnessed thusfar with the fall of Northport and Northbrook was just the beginning. Do not fool yourself into thinking this is over. This was the opening volley of a war that may consume our world if we are not careful."
