Phil thanked the Guild Master (OOC: Or whomever that was?) before going to gather his belongings and preparing for the trek. He felt elevated at the chance of experiencing new things, see places he'd only heard about, make new friends and so on. He also felt a small knot in his stomach, though, a small nagging fear that he'd taken on more than he could handle. He might not get from this one alive and breathing.
"Well, so be it" he said to himself, slung his longbow on his back, checked that his bowstrings were safe and dry and, out of habit, let his hand glide over the smooth, worn handle of his hunting knife.
With a small shock he noticed that his trusty knife was no longer in his belt, perhaps it had fallen out during his journey here. He didn't want to believe that anyone here would've stolen it from him - without him noticing it - so he decided he'd lost it. He didn't have time to go back and look for it, but perhaps he'd find a replacement somewhere along the road ahead.
Phil walked tentatively over to the other three with what he hoped was a friendly smile on his face. "Well met, everyone!"

"I think we should go to Northport. Although there are monsters still there we have pre made defensive positions, it is a short trip, and we have people who know the lands more than likely. We can prevent casualties quite easily by methodical clearing a section at a time. Ships we can use for quick escape when all else fails. Also with enough masonry we can be swift in building up the defensive positions again," Lucas spoke up.

Arkades considered the question. "I consider this a problem of sustainability and the future. I feel that it is vital your people be settled where they can amass wealth and security for themselves, to give them the best chance of avoiding another tragedy." Arkades unrolled his map and stabbed his long finger at it for emphasis as he spoke. "I feel your best chances of building this new life for yourselves will be in Biya R'zala, as a cartel of your own, or in Northport." He paused for a moment, sucking his teeth, and tapped Northport's name on his map. "I would advise Northport above the other. Initial encampments and supplies will be difficult, but the prospective advantages are immense."
He held up his hand, raising his fingers one at a time for emphasis. "First, you shall serve yourselves - rather than depending on the forbearance of others and your value to them, you shall command your own fate, a security that I think you would much desire." He held up a second finger. "Secondly, Northport can be rebuilt to give you a town many decades if not centuries beyond what you could build for yourselves. Even with the devastation, all needed building materials are present in the rubble." A third finger joined the others. "Thirdly, the disadvantages of an ill-protected southern border are more than offset by the prospect of your own navy. Fourthly, and in this line of reasoning, you have the possibility of becoming a trading port of your own. For any of the inland peoples, the closest port to the sea is in Den Nisaldis. From there, travelers must voyage up the coast and through the Rhutanic strait if they wish to reach the port of Rhutan, and they must pass through the deep and perilous seas of the Elder's Torch. However, from your port, they may travel the coastline from a far more convenient location, and pass through the shallow landlocked passage of the Rhutanic Strait, a more peaceful and less troublesome voyage for families or livestock."
He stood, leaning heavily on his cane. "In short, my advice to you is that we journey to Northport, but you shall have what healing arts and spiritual guidance I may offer wherever you might choose to travel."

A Halberd can be purchased from Yar for 100 gold. See merchants for a full list of available goods. Pickings are slim right now, but will improve with time. (Especially when you set your merchants up with a place to live. Hence, this quest.)

OOC: Absolutely, and thank you. Where can I find a list of useful utility items or healing supplies to purchase? I'd like to be the medic for the party unless there's someone better suited.

Potions can be purchased from Gallop's concoctions (see merchants). As to the other type of goods you mentioned, so far, no merchant carries such things. Hopefully when you're established and trade picks up, someone will come in to offer those goods.

Fantastic! I'll take level 1 mage armor and a minor Ring of Will. If I can't be well supplied, I'll be darned if I go into battle again in a tunic and my skivvies.

further edit: I'll take a dagger and a Ring of Will. I'd also like to transfer the dagger to ph7 for the duration of this quest, after which I'll keep it around for emergencies and as a tool.
