"Oh goody, a mist in a forest along with evil monkeys," Lucas mumbled to himself. 'Why did I do to deserve this besides sleeping a priests daughter."

OOC: At least you're outside of the woods right now. Hah.
Vir glides after Lucas. When he reaches the pillared building he sets his feet on the ground.

You detect a mental energy barrier to your northeast (right in front of the tower.) The party will be able to pass this barrier, but it could cause some damage.

Arkades paused to rest a moment, leaning heavily on his cane, and waited for the rest of his party to catch up. (Pass!).

"Okay I'm going in first," Lucas said before walking toward the tower and looking out.

OOC Up one, east one, and looking around the tower.

The tower is intimidating in stature. It rises some 400 feet (121 meters) above you. It's in good condition. There are no stains. There are no cracks. The paint on the building is fresh. You gather that it was constructed recently, and it survived the battle of Northport without being touched.

Two large wooden doors (double doors) bar you from entry. The doors are locked. If you want to enter the building, you will need someone to use the skill "Break" (if anyone has it) or "Pick Lock" if anyone has that. Otherwise, the only thing you can do is hit the door and hope to break it down with your combined strength.

There is a mental energy barrier here. It has damaged you for 3HP and slowed your movement. You might not want to stay here for too long.

HP UPDATE

Arkades: move up to 2/act
Phil: move up to 2/act

Bracing himself against the mental pressure, Vir steps towards the tower. Looking up and down, Vir studies the tower. He thought to look for windows, small cracks or protrusions, and any other details.

There is a large stained glass window no less than 10 feet above the double doors. If someone could break the window open with a projectile, you might be able to levitate yourself in.

(Those who have the skill "Climb" might try it too, but I don't think any of you do. The tower has no ledges which would aim you in your climbing attempts, so it will require a very high roll unless you have the Climb skill.)

Remaining turns:
Arkades: up to 2/act
Phil: up to 2/act

Vir casts his eyes towards Phil...
The visible agony on Lucas' face as he nears the tower gives Phil pause. When Lucas is dragging his feet, slowed down by some invisble force, Phil becomes even less keen on approaching the tower.

But, if they are to gain access to it, they'll probably have to break down the doors, all of them together, so Phil takes a deep breath, steeling himself for what's to come. Father Arkades' healing powers and Vir's levitation he can accept, but he isn't too fond of magic, truth be told.

Just as he's about to make a run for the double doors, hoping that he'll somehow outrun the magic that protects this place, he notices Vir looking at him questionly. Following his glance, Phil sees the windows and is pretty sure he knows what Vir wants him to do.

With a barely audible sigh of relief, he stops and pulls out an arrow from the quiver. Phil takes careful aim at the stained glass window, drawing the string back as far as he dares, and lets the arrow fly. He follows its flight with his eyes, hoping it'll have enough punch to break through the windows.
Arkades raised his hands to his sides, bowing his head. He allowed holy power to flow from him. "Replenish!"

The window shatters with ease.

______________________________________________________________________

Kale pants with exhaustion. He cries out to all of you, "The cult has won the battle, they are headed this way! Get inside, if you like, we'll try to hold them off!"

OOC: I don't have a map for the tower. I'll draw one for myself and if you get inside, we'll just roleplay it. I'll try to give better descriptions.
