Wishbone: Nope, it's no more than about 3 or 4 months ago. I couldn't log on for 3 days.

Navagon: Really? I must have missed that then. Or it somehow didn't affect the service here.

Not sure it was a global issue. For all I know, they might have just flipped a wrong bit on my account. It wasn't a local problem though, because I could do everything else online just fine. And I didn't do anything to "fix" it. 3 days later it just suddenly worked again. But I tried and failed to connect every day for 3 days.

It's entirely possible that I missed it. My Steam rating isn't exactly high for a reason.

You know, plenty of Christians aren't like that. For Christ's sake, the fire-and-brimstone ones are fast becoming a minority. But that board was hilarious. Thanks for making my night (Well, other than playing a bunch of Batman's challenge rooms and settling down for some Penn & Teller: Bullsh*t!).

"+1" does not add any thing to the conversation, why not just hit the "plus" next to his name and leave it at that.
Or you could, if you must post, tell us a story that relates to the post in some manner.

The +1 is fairly obvious, Wec.
The image reflects the kind of ignorance that aggravates me the most. So by posting '+1' i'm acknowledging the fact that i feel the same way. Do i really need to explain that to you Wec ? Do i really need to tell you a story for you to understand that ?
Anyway, thanks for the 'how to plus 1 properly' 101. I'll be sure to completely disregard it in the future.
But since i'm a really nice guy, i'll humor you with one that i'm sure you're familiar with.

KingofGnG: Ah, again this hi-def shit... Blu-ray would be great if it wasn't the worst DRM-crap ever conceived by Hollywood...
avatar
AmishFury: other than BD+ which unless some other studio started using it is only currently used by FOX the DRM on bluray is not all that problematic

Well, this is just one part of the whole story. Try to play (and not just rip with AnyDVD HD) a damn Blu-ray disk with a non completely HDCP compliant device (ie a PC graphic card) chain and then let me know how it feels to see hi-def in half the resolution because some Hollywood asshole decided so for you....

HD or no HD, it doesn't really matter. They still make DVDs for a reason, you know...

there are few if any bluray discs that have the image constraint token activated... if the ICT is not active then non-HDCP connections are limited to a max of 1080i and that is the only limitation... and most recent video cards (the ones you would likely find in a PC powerful enough to handle bluray playback are HDCP compliant)

I don't give a damn about how much disks there are enforcing the stupid hi-def hardware DRMs. Until there is the hardware, they can exploit it whenever they want. So they can go fuck themselves as a general rule.
Now, it's a marketing myth. The *only* movies that are perceptibly better (Even though the best Bluray transfer is still nowhere NEAR the magnitude of difference that DVD was over VHS) are those that were filmed after Blurays creation.
Anyone buying a bluray from before that period is just foolihsly spending double-triple the price for an easier-scratched DVD put on a different medium, in a silly looking case.
