Wishbone: Except that you don't. You just personified his example ;-)

michaelleung: I sadly, truly, really do agree that multiplayer on the PC is lacking.

Lacking in what, exactly?

Wishbone: Lacking in what, exactly?

Subscription fees and the inevitable failures that stem from reliance on one service provider alone.

KingofGnG: Ah, again this hi-def shit... Blu-ray would be great if it wasn't the worst DRM-crap ever conceived by Hollywood...

other than BD+ which unless some other studio started using it is only currently used by FOX the DRM on bluray is not all that problematic
BD+ however causes quite a few headaches when trying to play a new release (from FOX) on a PC
anyway some aggravating ignorance....
people who own alot of guns are crazy
music/movies/games/whatever turn innocent children into psycho killers

Ah yes, I see that is a serious shortcoming. But fear not, I'm sure that Valve and Microsoft are trying to remedy the situation. Let's just hope they don't succeed :-(

michaelleung: I hope you're being funny. Sarcasm doesn't work well online.

Of course I was! Have you not seen the rest of the posts here? I thought this was suppossed to be "Post your sarcastic comment that people you dislike intensely would say." I love Halo 3.
EDIT: I added quotation marks to my first post, just to hammer in the point that that's not my real opinion. I would never spend anything higher than $10 on a device that tracks your head.

turn-based = slow and dull
I mean, why do I have to sit there while they hit me??!!
Adobe AIR is excrement.

Of all the accusations you can throw at Valve, I don't think that putting a premium on internet services is one of them. They've been very supportive of their multiplayer communities and at no additional cost.
Microsoft on the other hand...

No, the Valve part of the equation was more in the "inevitable failures that stem from reliance on one service provider alone" category.

Ah. I don't know if every game on Steam is tied to the client for multiplayer. But they're all tied to the client full stop. Still. I've never known it to fail. So it hasn't been a problem.
Still, unless you only used Steam, it shouldn't kill your online gaming dead. Not like if Xbox Live went down. Which, unlike Steam, it has done so for several days at a time.

So has Steam, for me. Just one more reason to use it as little as possible. Sadly, there's no other way of playing TF2.
I'd have to say of all the games I've played on Xbox live, I've had no connection issues, which is not something I could say for playing games on PC.
On the other hand, I've played WAAAAAY more games on PC than Xbox.
On topic though, other things that aggravate me;
your =\= you're
router =\= cable modem
monitor =\= computer
I wish people would realise these things.
avatar
Weclock: your =\= you're

I'll add:
their =/= there
"could of" instead of "could have"
Stupid uses of the apostrophe.

For days at a time? Were you using it back in '04 or something? It was atrocious back then, from what I've heard. But it doesn't seem to be anything like as bad now.

Nope, it's no more than about 3 or 4 months ago. I couldn't log on for 3 days.

Weclock: monitor =\= computer

While we're on that one:
computer != hard drive
computer != CPU
computer != "brain"

Really? I must have missed that then. Or it somehow didn't affect the service here.
