dailypaywall.com

It's a news website loaded with tons of articles pirated from the top paywalled newspapers--and they will pay you to read them.
how exactly does that work?

rtcvb32: how exactly does that work?
probably without a reacharound.
Hmm... Glanced at one of the articles, seems someone funds the article, then if you read it and answer the question at the end and it's correct you get $1...

that is the jist of it.
Interesting...

I suppose if you had nothing else you could do to make money, you could do this... If you read each article in 5 minutes, you could be making $12/hr, or if you just scanned the article for keywords based on the question/answer, you could do it in half that time making it $20/hr... but... Do i want to be scanning articles to answer quiz questions for 8 hours a day to make $60-$200 a day? Assuming of course it's articles that are funded, there are those that aren't...
I think that mentality is rather contrary to the originators intent

I don't think so. I think the monetary incentive is there to encourage people reading the articles whoever funded them wants.

It's a monetary way of spreading influence. i think the website deliberately set it up that way to lampoon the big news media outlets that collect money from readers in order to get them to read the articles chosen for them.

Blah blah blah tired not making complete sense grammatically.

I love you all. Good night...
If that site isn't a scam, where are they getting the funds to pay readers?

If he were paying me to read something I'd written, I'd probably be very upset.

Well if you go to an article that isn't funded, at the bottom where the earning would be located there's an option instead to fund it... So anyone can fund it... I guess the question is... Why? Maybe stimulate people to start reading like they used to with newspapers 50 years ago? I used to deliver newspapers and quit when i was 15... That feels like a lifetime ago... and it was too...

Perhaps articles of higher importance to get more people looking/reading certain types of content, like making people aware of a new SOPA bill is being passed, then being paid to read up on it and be aware so you can voice your opinion seems like a reasonable option...

Then if it's real, might go for it... But i'd want confirmation before adding any personal information of my own. Course if they can pay via paypal, then that would be good.

Kinda clever. During times of recession, you could make dissatisfied citizens more informed about politics, by enticing them with money. Ditto for students. This could be really great or truly terrible, depending on who is doing the funding.

If you only read the articles you get paid for, it could be bad... But if there's nothing stopping you, and the articles are all true and from other sources, i certainly don't see any reason why it won't work... And if the site gets popular, you know the funding will become higher.

I certainly wouldn't want to do this, but if you have to make ends meet, it could work.
When I see news sites with paywalled articles I can't help but get a snide smile. The modern Western press are so absolutely crap that seeing them squirm to barely stay afloat in the internet age feels like justice.

Stuff like WikiLeaks or various hackings are where we get the real "true" news.
