Yeah, at least the genre adventure is now present as a game list filter :)

soulgrindr: When was the EXACT moment that Lucasarts went from being the most loved games company to the most despised?
Was it before or after they cancelled Sam & Max 2?
;-)

It was when the company was taken over by the marketing department, who said:
"People buy our games because they're fantastic, but fantastic games cost a lot of time and money to make. Here's a thought. Why don't we just put crap in a cover, print Star Wars on it, and every geek within a 100 miles will be lined up around the block to buy it. It's much cheaper for us, and even if the game sucks, they'll still buy the next one. No geek can resist a cover with Star Wars written on it."
And sadly, it turned out they were right. Well, almost right. Only about 90% of the Star Wars geeks fell for it, but that's still enough to make it worthwile for Lucasarts.

That reminds me! There's this awesome book that just came out, and it talks about the glory days of LucasArts, before it all went down to the dust.
And the adventures lined up from Adventure Soft look cool, but here's hoping Activision will be just as generous with GoG as they have been with GameTap and give us all the old Zork games (Zork Nemesis is dying to become relevant and Vista-compatible!).
I'll say there have been a few really good star wars games, KOTOR and Empire at War are two shining gems.

Don't forget Jedi Knight I and II.

I need to get that. I had to sell my copy of KotOR because I got so addicted to it I seriously didn't play much of anything else for about a year. I only wish they threw in the whole Dark Forces/Jedi Knight series in there as I'd rather have those than Star Wars: Battlefront and Republic Commando. But still a good package and I want to try Empire at War out. Been a while since I've bought an RTS.

Either I'm not very good at RTS or this is really hard.
I'm not very good, but I figured I'd be respectable, this game is almost silly in how hard it is as an RTS.. or at least it is for me. Maybe Starcraft (even though it had a fairly high difficulty curve) and Warcraft II and III, are just super easy games and EAW is the normal and I'm clueless.
X-wing/Tie Fighter were great, KOTOR's were pretty good, otherwise Lucasarts hasn't released anything awesome for a while... I loved Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis.
I'd also love to see some old Sierra games on here, I've played most of the space quests but it'd be fun to run through some King's Quests again, quest for glory would be great as well (but then again there's a freeware upgrade of QFG1 out, another one coming out.. so I guess that'd be moot)
Id love to see more adventure and rpg games those had loads of lastability compared to shoot em ups,fps etc.
Seeing that we are getting waxworks hope to see the elvira games.
How does an adventure game have a longer life? Once you've completed it you know the puzzles. Adventure games are my favorite, but it's not like I can go back and replay them as soon as I finish them.

Anything loses its impact if you replay too soon, but I've played the Monkey Island games, and a lot of the Sierra Quest games many times, and love them every time.
I agree, I've replayed King's Quest 7 or Toonstruck a bunch of times, but I mean, he said that they last longer than shoot'em ups and fps, and I can throw in Metal Slug or Painkiller into my drive and play it over and over and over regardless of whether I just beat it or not.
