With The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings release date approaching we thought you may want to jump on the RPG hype wagon and check some of the classic role-playing games from the past. That's why this weekend we're giving you [url=http://www.gog.com/en/promo/activision_rpgs]a 30% discount on 4 great representatives of this popular genre from Activision. Until Monday, May 16 at 11:59 p.m. EDT, grab Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura, Vampire The Masquerade: Redemption, Betrayal at Krondor Pack including Betrayal in Antara and Return to Krondor for only $4.19 each. Let the RPG frenzy continue!
Not excited with any of these games, will pass and see what happens next weekend...
Really? The one time I'd jump on a "50% if you buy the whole pack" and it's missing?

I think I'll pass....

Dragobr: It's not really about the money, but about the size of my backlog and the relative lack of time to play. Whatever I buy now, I will probably take so long to play that there's a nice chance of it getting even cheaper before I do, and that's why I'm only buying games with higher discounts.
Same.

After buying witcher 1 & 2 i am glad there is a promo i have all the games. my credit card is already strained :)

I would recommend Vampre and Arcanum both great games.
Awesome promo! I have all the games so nothing for me, but I'm waiting for The Witcher 2 and I still have to finish The Witcher 1 so it's ok :)

maybe you just don't like RPGs but if you like them, how are you not excited about two masterpieces like Arcanum and Vampire The Masquerade: Redemption? :P

the Krondor series is a bit dated but it's awesome too

DrSchwengel: do you know if the krondor games still have these bad bugs on windows 7?
or are they playable now?
btw: relax guys, 30% is still a good deal, they cant give em away for free
the two Betrayal are pretty fine, as they are emulated using dosbox, Return sadly suffers of glitches, I don't know if there's a workaround to be able to play with directx too

Been wanting to try Betrayal for the longest time. Too bad GOG doesn't offer discounts on free time. Free time is the rarest promo :(

Yes. I've been saving up to purchase time for well... ages. I wish someone would release some into the market.
Not a bad sale, but I agree that it would have been nice to have the 50% discount for picking up all the games since there's only four of them and they all belong to the same genre. I'm going to buy Arcanum and Betrayal at Krondor -- at 50% off I would have picked up the other two as well. As others have said it doesn't make a huge difference, but in view of my ginormous backlog, 30% off doesn't cross my impulse-buying threshold.
Not a bad promo when you look at what you actually end up paying. There are some good games here, well I should hope so as it seems I've already bought them all from gog. It has been years since I played Betrayal at Krondor and never finished it, one day I'll have to devote some more time to it.

Just think if I'd bought all the games I had in the past through gog in the future I'd have saved a lot of money, sadly there is a strange sort of time paradox in that logic.
Awesome! Strike three items off of my wishlist.
Ah! How timely! This week I was considering getting both The Last Express and Arcanum. I was going to purchase them at full price, but I decided to wait until this weeks sale anyway, just to check... and here Arcanum is at a discount! Well well. 30% off is good to me, considering I was all gung-ho to buy it full price anyway. This is just like a bonus!

The Betrayal at Krondor Pack has been sitting on my wishlist for a while. The only thing that kept me from buying was not the price though but the posts I read about the GOG version of Betrayal in Antara suffering from game-breaking bugs. Was anyone of you able to complete the GOG version of Antara without issues? I'd hate to buy a broken game, even if I'm aware that Betrayal at Krondor is probably worth the money on itself.

Also, I'm still undecidead if I want Vampire. The setting and story interests me but the gameplay of the demo felt very dull (bland dungeon with nothing much to do but fighting waves of more or less identical foes and combat didn't seem very interesteing). Did I get the wrong impression? Or a right one but the story is still worth putting up with the boredom in between?

I thought the Krondor games were real time simulations, not RPGs. o_O

I'm slightly interested in Vampire (I keep hearing good things about the story) and I already own Arcanum...

Maybe I were just lucky, but I never had any problems with RtK on Win7 (x64).

Arteveld: Im, had one, got two, leaving the Vampire thing behind. Now i'm broke. Happy?
Vampire is the only one I don't have, but as for now I'm still fighting the urge to grab it ;)
