I think this will be their ultimate downfall. Greed has obviously blinded the gargoyle known in English tongues as "Kotick", because consumers will not take bullshit like this. Buying guitar controllers, DJ turntables and skateboards is one thing. But buying hardware that only plays those specific games? Screw Activision.

Please don't lump Kotick in with gargoyles. Goliath and his clan are pure win.

Paul_cz: Well it's not like Activision has put out a decent game since..ever.The only exception Diablo 3 is still far away anyway.

Oh I have to take issue with that. Activision used to make great games, way back in the day (Afterburner, Pitfall, River Raid) and still made decent games until recently. Its only when they got too big and became little more than a sequel factory that their games started to suck.

Weclock: Fuck Blizzard.

I wouldn't recommend it. Your dick could get gangrene.

Activision might not have been so bad during the 80s, but even during the 90s I thought they were cunts.

Seriously? Activision in the 90's had great games: Mechwarrior, Interstate '76, Doom, Quake, Blood Omen, SiN... okay, maybe not SiN, but they were just as good in the 90's with original games. It wasn't until the turn of the millennium that they started to get lazy and began turning out crappy sequel after crappy sequel.

They didn't develop those games. They published them, and did a lousy job. For one thing, they started a trend of major titles like Quake 2 and Sin being released in a completely unfinished state.

Activision in the 90s was a different company wasn't it? I seem to recall that this is the 4th version of activision to date

Who said we were only talking about Activision developed games? I was talking about Activision as a whole, which includes both games developed by and games "only" published by them. The statement was originally that Activision had not made a decent game ever. I never said they didn't make some stinkers along the way, but if we are being honest, mixed in with those stinkers was a fair number of real gems over the course of their 30 years in the business.

Actually, that was only the second version of Activision and the first coming Douchebag... I mean Kotick.

Hmm I was sure it was 4th. Oh well, maybe thinking of some other company.
They have made and published some amazing games over the years but then so have most publishers & devs. The fact that they're apparently not greenlighting anything other than proven properties makes them a business on the wrong path.
EA have done new stuff recently and even Lucasarts have shown promise with Lucidity not being a star wars fps or 3rd person beat em up (though of course they ruin any gains by releasing shit like the clone wars republic heroes game)

Who said that? I said I thought they were cunts. That's got nothing to do with the quality of the output. Although it clearly does affect it in some cases. As it did with Quake 2 and Sin.
Everything is going the way of the PC in the future:) Why sites like GOG are doing great. pcGAMESTORE also proves this, they just launched and are having a sweepstakes to give away a $5,000 PC and over 1,000 games. http://contest.pcgamestore.com Check--checkit out!
