I think this will be their ultimate downfall. Greed has obviously blinded the gargoyle known in English tongues as "Kotick", because consumers will not take bullshit like this. Buying guitar controllers, DJ turntables and skateboards is one thing. But buying hardware that only plays those specific games? Screw Activision.

They really do seem to have lost their minds with all of these peripheral-based releases. The problem is, with Modern Warfare 2 coming out and with them joining forces with the money minting enterprise we call Blizzard, it's going to be a long while before they're financially forced to change a damn thing.
This is the latest in a long line of anti-consumer actions they have taken - threatening to boycott the PS3, charging $60 for a PC game, etc.
I'm not an Activision fan anymore.
I'm not sure what you mean. The article didn't say anything specific, but it didn't rule out PC as being the alternative to Consoles.
It did mention OnLive, but that runs PC games. As far as I know, there won't be OnLive exclusive games, but there could be. Even though they're just plain PC Games.
HEH. Buying a machine (like those cheap little Jakks TV games) to play the next COD only? As if.

I can't say I ever was, but with Kotick in charge I sure am not. The price hike on PC games is really infuriating, I see other companies are already starting to copy that. I can't remember titles off the top of my head right now, but I saw some upcoming titles listed for that price from other companies also.
Wow, way to miss the point guys. As is stated in the source article, Dipshit... I mean Kotick, was talking about a fantasy future where everyone has those media hub HDTVs that can stream content from PCs. It will be at least a decade before that technology has the kind of penetration required for a giant like Activision to switch away from consoles and by then, everyone else could be doing that too. Its just speculation that Dumbass... I mean Kotick, was spouting for potential investors at a banking conference, nothing more. The guy is evil, but this is simply a case of the "gaming media" taking one element of something that Nimrod... I mean Kotick, said and taking it to its least logical conclusion.
Activision is far too easy to hate. I can only hope the majority wakes up and at some point they go out of business. Of course if science fiction movies are anything to by, like the horrid gargantuan beast it is, the company would re-emerge someday stronger than before.
Every article about him features that image, and it begins to look more and more like Satan with each nugget of joy that comes from Kotick's mouth. Unfortunately Activision is currently one of the biggest publishers in the industry, and I imagine they're not slowing down. Their stocks certainly show no sign of it.
If I were a businesswoman, I would appreciate his values more. But I am a gamer, and I despise him.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Am I the only one who, after reading the linked Gamespot article, had to check the date to make sure it wasn't April 1st? Some of the statements in there are just too ridiculous and over the top to take seriously.
Err its activision, of course they were over the top and unrealistic. They're like the pro wrestling of game publishing

nope. you are not the only one.
How can anyone say this:
The executive said that he has tried to instill into the company culture "skepticism, pessimism, and fear" of the global economic downturn, adding, "We are very good at keeping people focused on the deep depression."

that is so wrong. on a lot of levels.
He's going to turn all supervillain any day now and get beaten up by Batman. What should his evil name be? Scaremonger? Overcharger?
