I can only hope that they come somewhere decently close to Iowa sometime :D, my favorite band of all time!

Thanks a lot! Nah, couldn't get rid of it, it's a once off, I have had it for about 25 years now, with the special reinforcements on all the SG weak spots, that why it probably has lasted so long, the pics don't really do it justice, cant really see the flame effect or the depth of colour in the wood etc.

Mine too, was just beating the shit out of my drums to the Let There Be Rock album. Tell you, that song despite being simple is not easy to play! *Hands fall off*

Lars' biggest problem as a drummer is that the band plays music that he can't. If you listen to him playing their late 90's stuff, he usually has some seriously good stuff. They had an excellent rehearsal video of Fuel on youtube as an example. Shit thrash drummer, quite a good heavy metal drummer.

His 90's material was a big reason I got into drumming. I was never a big fan of their 80's stuff. Lars, Rick Allen,Tommy Lee and Phil Rudd.

As regards St. Anger album, I have a special edition version with a video of them recording it in the studio and Lars is awesome on it, you really appreciate the effort he puts into it, top class drummer tbh. :)

Oh hell yeah, the quality of the album was shit but the music was great performed on that dvd. I much preferred St Anger to that abortion Death Magnetic. Horrible album, with some terrible drumming funnily enough haha.

Oh I would definitely say he is shit to a point, but I kind of defend the little bastard for some points lol. His energy is pretty impressive even if what he plays is utter balls. He was awful at the recent Glastonbury concert. But I could quite believe that video is real if the last album and recent live performances are anything to go by.

I actually liked Death Magnetic (I must be one incredibly forgiving bastard!), I wouldn't get up in the middle of the night to listen to it, but yeah I can see how easy it is to hate on nearly every aspect of it, even the production was shite. :)

BTW, sry for derailing the thread even if it is kind of traditional to do it on GOG :)

haha I don't mind. Death Magnetic had some good riffs but the band just over complicated everything and ruined the songs. Well as far as my opinion is concerned. Then you have the production... holy god it's bad! I love to know what they're thinking.
