sajber: The full text:

ELECTRONIC ARTS

This End User License Agreement (“License”)...
Thank you man.

Full text, literally. =p

You could end it after the "terms of this License shall govern.", but it's ok. Thanks again.

OmegaX: "may be required". I doubt old EA games used EA accounts for online services or are even available on EADM. This part doesn't apply to any game we are going to see on GOG anytime soon so there is nothing to worry.
Yes, "may" does not mean "is", but such "agreement" can always be used after to some backdoor'ed "hurts". ("yes, we had a right, you've signed this")
From the law's point of view, I do not like such statements, they are always "shady".

Oh, and btw: if they are not needed at all then why to include them?

Paranoia much? Dude, they copy pasted an EULA from a modern game onto an old one...no big deal really...plus as has been said, most games today have EULAs....it's not the end of the world.

EA included them because they thought it'd make them feel safer at night as they sleep under piles of cash maybe?

Dude, they had two years to sign that contract - its a lot of time to prepare some "not copy pasted" text. :D

That's why I like oldies ;) They do not want my signetures. :D
sajber, do you realise what you've done!

I ... agree ... with GameRager. This is just paranoia. It's some legal thing that they need to put in. There's a small bit of worry that they state they may store your IP address etc. even while you're offline, but it's not for these games. They will have 1 EULA that fits all products. These things are expensive to produce, you don't customise them per game. It's a catch all that they would have little chance of enforcing if they ever wanted to. This is nothing to worry about.
The EULA for sure won't stop me from buying these games. I just want the agreement to be fair and the games to be DRM-free. ;)

Indeed.
