Best adaptation- I think the Witcher games were a great adaption of the books. I love them both.
In.

I thought the first Resident Evil movie waspretty good.
Thank you. I'm in.

And I think I will choose...The Witcher for the best adaptation forever and ever from books to games, imho. of course because Sapkowski was involved..
And the worst adpataion is .. The Witcher- TV series and the movie compiled from TV series...only for fans and even so - absolute failure, complete hopelessness and despair :(
I'm in, thanks (+1).

Crewdroog: Not In, but thanks as always to all. :)
By far, Hitchhiker's Guide Movie. I was so angry through the whole thing. I think I blanked out and I can't remember if I even finished it. I think the character names were about all that were similar to the book. bah.

mc_leod: Have to quote here - really the same feelings.

If the Hitchhiker would have been not from a book it would be a mediocre film with some nice ideas and "some" of the humor was working. When you ever had one of the books in your hand it makes you not just angry, I almost freaked out.
...as i do keep telling people on here - HHGTTG was a radio drama first and foremost. the printed novel came later, and the film was actually more directly inspired by the radio drama and TV series than the novels. flawed as it may be... some things are closer to Adam's actual ideas than you would be familiar with.
Count me in and thanks again.
I'm in, thanks!

Your question about best adaptation to the big screen brings to mind Stephen King short novels that became great movies: Shawshank Redemption and The Body (aka Stand By Me).

Much appreciated, Sachys and Sigil.
I'm in! Thanks for the chance. As for one of the questions: My favorite game doesn't have any movie adaptation.
Count me in. Thanks for the giveaway.

I'm in as well !

As for adaptations, I watched at the cinema the Prince of Persia film (the one with Jake Gyllenhaal as the protagonist) when it came out and quite liked it. I've also played some of the games (namely Warrior Within, The Two Thrones, Prince of Persia 2008, and The Forgotten Sands) and, I don't know, wasn't too excited-sure, I liked the parkour action going on, but that is till I got stuck on a difficult jump or a boss- I tend to get stuck on games quite easily. Perhaps, that's why I liked the movie- it had the same levels of action, without fear of getting stuck anywhere ! In conclusion, I consider that one as a good video game-movie adaptation. :-)
