I remember having some 100 MB Zip Drives in my workplace for backup purposes and thinking in get a LS-120 internal drive (to replace the normal 1.44 disket drive)

Anyone remember the removable hdd bay?
We had one at the home pc and tried to install a second at the university computer. (Because you know T1 is so much better than dial-up).

For a tech ; already mentioned, but Sony's Minidisc was a nice fail.

Dvorak is far from obsolete, though it is a bit obscure. And most OSes in the last 15 years (or more) do support them, and they can even turn qwerty (or qwertz or azerty) keybords to Dvorak on the OS level. Always fun for a prank after all ;)

Thanks and I'm in... as for the tech that never caught, for me HD-DVD comes to mind, as we almost released a player supporting it... thankfully we realized it's a dead end pretty early in the second format wars :D

Going over the posts feels like going through memory lane, I still remember using an LS-120 zip drive, playing around with the removeable HDD bay, listening to music on a portable CD player and my brother still owns a Sony MiniDisc player, lucky him. Also remember when I popped my keyboard and rearranged the letters to use Dvorak, that didn't last long, heh.

When I was in middle school, every student was given a Zip disk for all their projects and papers to use in all the school computers. Totally worthless because no one had zip drives at home, so we usually had emulators and on them, lol.

Remember HD DVDs? Very few of them were made, both movies and players, and they soon got quickly replaced with Blu-Rays.
