NOW HEAR THIS:

Fellow GOGlodytes,

Six months ago we set up a temporary giveaway to fill the void left by the departure of various regular gifters on this forum, and to honour both them and other missing GOGlodytes. As time has passed, it has become apparent that this giveaway is no longer temporary, but a more permanent fixture.

Entry is simple: state that you're entering. A $10 game of your choice if you win.

On our behalf (and to maintain anonimity), Sachys has agreed to host and manage the giveaway process.

Post to be entered. Our identities are not to be revealed by the winners - or else their future entries will be refused.

Kind Regards,
The Sigil

ADDITIONAL:

This is a simple lottery - one person, one entry. Entries for anyone other than yourself and your own personal gaming enjoyment will not be counted.
All entrants must have an avatar and something other than "new user" as their "forum title".
The title can be changed , and the avatar [url=https://secure.gog.com/account/settings]HERE.
Entries not adhering to these requirements will not qualify.

YOU MAY RETURN TO YOUR GOGLODATION!

ENTRIES CLOSE 7PM GMT WEDNESDAY MAY 7th

...and from me guys: if you could please refrain from bumping the thread, it would be a great help as it makes keeping tally and checking for double entries a little difficult.

For additional fun and participation this week (does not affect your entry)...
MODDING - what mods do you love, what games really need the ability to mod?
Any mod-type thoughts you have really.
In, please :D Thanks to the Sigil, once again.
I´m in again!

Mods: I really love any High-Res Mod to make older games compatible without any upscaling-blur.
In most cases this is quite easy done via some configuration files, but in case it´s not that easy it´s just EPIC to have a good mod to do so! (e.g. like the one for Infinity Enigine Games!)
I'm in again for another chance! Thanks Sachys and the mysterious Sigil. +1

Not a very serious modder myself, although I do use fan made patches on games to make them work (and possibly look) better. The TFix patch on Thief GOLD, for example.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that I do like fan made missions for games like the one I just mentioned. Kind of makes the game last a lot longer. (Which is one reason why Jetpack is awesome, with its level editor)

Thanks for your generosity, TheSigil and Sachys! Please, count me in.

I guess the mods I like most are those who add a ton of content. I don't mean just items, but new storylines (like those for RPGs like NWN), new campaigns, or the setting/background of the original game changed to a new one (like modding Freespace 2 to make a Babylon 5 or BattleStar Galactica game). :)
In thank you.
I hate moderators.
As per usual 0 in, +1.

Don't like moding, prefer to play the game as intended by its creators.
i am probably barred, so not in.
I'm in! I actually have a bit of a problem with modding and tinkering with things, whether it be a video game or a new gadget. In fact, I just spent the last hour or so figuring out how to unpack the firmware in my FiiO X5 portable audio player, just so I could change the color of the UI and put some personalized pictures on the background screen. So it's not even really an issue of, "this needs to be modded!" but more an issue of me needing something to obsess over for a while. :)

I will say though that Skyrim was fun as hell to experiment with in regards to modding. And I don't think I would ever want to play the Baldur's Gate games without merging them into one game and using all the good available mods to make them awesome.

Thanks again to Sachys and The Sigil. :)
I'm in - thanks!

Right now I am excited about the Deus Ex graphical upgrade mod that's coming soon, although I haven't had luck with Deus Ex mods in the past.

The #1 game I think would benefit from modding is Bioshock -- it would look much better with high-res textures. Bioshock 2 has noticeably sharper textures that make a big difference.

The #1 game I would want to mod is Quake, but I will probably never get around to it.
I'd like to be in.

As far as modding goes, I mod when it is necessary (playing Planescape: Torment), and when I just can't stand the graphics (Deus Ex).
I'm in Sachys. Thank you. Modding...never tried it.
In and +1

Never liked modding, tried a few but only liked Postal 2's A Week in Paradise, the one that added the expansion weapons to the original (it added other stuff too, but I got it for the weapons) .
Not in but thanks for the giveaway!
I'm in! Thanks!

Mods are great, I love how they can extend the lifetime of a game tremendously. I haven't tried it yet, but I heard the Captains Addition mod for FTL: Faster Than Light is fantastic.
