I read a lot about this game and I'm aware that it's is the precersor to resident evil and silent hill now i'm a huge fan of survival horror games and I want to know try the game that truly started the genre but a few questions

how does the controls function is it a point and click style or is it manual like hold "w" key to move foward

You control manually, using the same tank control that Resident Evil made infamous.

Use the arrow keys (up to move forward, down to move backwards and left and right to turn). Most of the actions are done holding the space bar and using an arrow key. To run faster, you have to tap the up key twice. If you need more info, just ask.

It's real time, just like RE. Overall it's practically the same, fixed camera angle, static backgrounds.

Hold a button, press a direction, release. Depending on the weapon being used (a sword, a knife, bare hands, etc.) the attack speed and strength will be different. The amount of time it stuns the enemy may change too.

is there any use for the mouse for point and click besides navigating menus?

None, it's all keyboard.
And if I recall correctly, a lot of the camera angles are pretty fucked up, meaning you often can't see what's attacking you.

and that fixed camara angle along with resident evil and silent hill made the game more scary because of that idea that you cannot see the monsters attacking you: "Uh Oh there is a monster here but I can't see where he is and i'm too scared to see"

You can think of it that way, if you like. I think of it as "Well done, stupid developer. Did you even playtest this for half an hour before you shipped it out the door?"

Which brings me to my last question is alone in the dark 1 (excluding 2 and 3 because i read they were not made to be scary because of there settings) scary because i have seen the pictures and gameplay and it looks like it's gonna have a hard time trying at least even surprise me considering this game looks cartoony now cause it's old and I'm 19 years old but I could be wrong and should not be fooled there could be moments that will spook me

Some enemies that appear when you don't expect them might make you jump, but I never really found any of the games particularly scary, even back when they were considered new. The overall atmosphere in AitD is pretty damn good though, and that's definitely more important to me. I'm planning on revisiting the games soon; it's been a good while since I last played.

I know considering there was this camara angle where you see your character through a window and you see hands of monster on the edges of the window which gives you the impression that your looking at your character through the eyes of this monster now thats pretty spooky

I played a while ago, but it does maintain some tension. It uses some cheap ways for it - limited ammo, weapons breaks - and monsters do try the 'boo' thing, but you have to be careful and think before each step. Walking is dangerous, opening a closet is dangerous, reading is dangerous.

It does allow clever tricks too: you can move cupboards and other furnitures to barricade yourself, avoiding some fights.

Weapons break oh crap now that makes the game even more intense and scarier now I gotta be more careful :)
