As far as I can recall, only one weapon breaks. Also, not to be a wet blanket, after all, I love the hell out of Alone in the Dark, but you realize there is a forum here specifically for Alone in the Dark, right?

No problem. 1 is the best, but the other two have their charms. 3 is an interesting mix of 1 and 2, style-wise.

The first is better for the ambiance, and the third is the most polished.
The second was annoying with his action-oriented start, but kept the mythological touch.

The first is the best, in term of progression and ambiance, but the others are still good.

as always in any series the first one is always the best
I've seen alone in the dark 2 it's about ghost pirates which will just remind me of pirates of the carribean and the 3rd game takes place in the wild west how the hell is that scary?

It's all in the atmosphere. 3, with the music, at first sounds like it's going to be really silly, but then you get a bit further in and it starts to get eerie.

Well, it gets sillier near the end though. But damn if it isn't a great kind of silly.
