Would this be a bad time to ask which of today's releases I should beg for?
For me, it's one thing when someone offers a game as in a giveaway, it's another to nearly demand it of them. that at the least is "tacky" & at the worst IMHO is rude & offensive

Zacron: All PMs are just that
Yes, just that .... 'personal'.
You don't seem to understand my point. I couldn't care less what he has to say to other people or what other people say to him, as you said I'm capable enough to ignore those message.
What I find a bit inappropriate, it's to publicly post the 'personnal' messages of other people without any prior confirmation that he did ask if people do mind or not to have their 'personnal' messages displayed. Not that it makes a big difference, just a matter of principles.

Then I never questioned his goodwil to share some light on the matter.

Sidenote : your 'bully analogy' is a bit over-the-top in my opinion. Just stop using such shortcuts please.

Since you used it so many times, it is personal and questioned. Too many n's. ;)

I really don't care about the topic but regarding forum conduct, unwritten or not, the 2nd biggest mass derep I ever suffered (after making fun of a dead film critic of course) was when I posted a PM. The thing is, the PM I posted was a guy harassing me, calling me names, telling me to shut up, yet I learned it was still a shit thing for me to do in posting it. I learned then to keep PMs between the sender and the receiver and anything short of a confession ie 'That missing kid in all the papers, I took him.' should remain private.

Ahah, my french is transpiring. French has the weird habit to use double consonants, it is one of the things that makes it hard to master. Thanks for the highlights, I will fix that.

Trust me, I was dereped plenty when it happened, and I DESERVED IT. I'm not going to sit here and criticize people for "inappropriate forum conduct" because I live in the proverbial glass house, but there is no secret here about the PM thing and it is one unspoken rule I can totally understand. I think about some of the stupid things I've PMd to people and how I'd feel if they posted those....OY!

Oh wow. Offering to sell "uprepping services" for games, that's fucking pathetic.

/popcorn
I have not had this issue with the GOG site, however when I used to do more give-aways on steamgifts I was amazed at how many people that actually won a giveaway turned round and asked for more (please note this is public give-aways and not the GOG group)

One instance that sticks in my mind was I gave a copy of the base game of Borderlands, the winner of the give-away after I sent the key contacted me and "demanded" I gift him the dlc for the game aswel. I stopped doing public give-aways shortly after that as it was not the first instance similar to that.

Nonsense!

Anyway, the Packers are screwed with no Aaron Rogers for the next three weeks, am I right?

And what's the deal with Grape Nuts, open the box, no grapes....no nuts....WTF!?

The de-repping army will soon make an appearance if we don't stop :)

So it's okay to call someone out publicly, but not post images that help to prove a point?
They are attached to HIS account, and he can use them as he wishes.
And I really do feel bad for him. And my bully analogy might be over the top, but that is what is happening. Just like when I was in school. I used that analogy because I went through it. I was harassed and publicly embarrassed, and the one time I tried to stand up for myself, I got in more trouble. In my case, they shoved my head into a school bus window so hard that the window cracked. That is simply what I see happening here. Instead of asking him to stop, they are bullying even more.

Maybe he did act in a manner unbecoming of a GOG member, but that does NOT mean that it is okay to call him out like this. Everyone here needs to shake hands and move on with life.

That sucks.
I stopped gifting when I sent a code in response to a "plz i really want this game" request in the gifting thread (by an established user, not a scammer) and then saw it redeemed by another established user.

As much as I hate to get involved in this, I agree with Zacron. I've exchanged PMs with all parties involved, with the exception of Elvin, and have found all to be pleasant people. (Not to say Elvin isn't a awesome person, only that we haven't spoken before.) Branjo's only offense was that he was "ambitious." He was neither rude, nor belligerent. He only made unwelcome requests that I'm sure he really regrets at the moment.

As far as posting the contents of the PMs, I don't completely agree with the general outrage. Both Elvin and lugum had related the general premise of the situation already. Branjo put them forth in their entirety, sure. I don't think he should have posted the exchange with Thespian, as Thespian didn't go into detail in his post. Could Branjo have responded with a bit more tact? Sure. But as much as I'd like to argue otherwise, I think I may have acted similarly had I checked in on the forums and found a thread fifty posts deep condemning me.

In the end, I guess everyone got what they wanted. You have thoroughly shamed Branjo and put an end to his "nefarious" requests. I can only hope that this treatment towards him does not extend beyond this thread; as stated above, he is a pretty nice guy.
