I have a windows xp from my office which runs fine and my boss will let me have it for $25 for everything. All I need is the tower and soundspeakers.

I could really care less with operating system, but I want to know if gog games will work on a windows xp pc. The comp is fast/decent speed.

Thanks to anyone who can help.

Look at the gamecard of any game you are interested in. There will be a category near the top of the page that says:

"Compatible with" and then will list the Operating System that is officially supported for each game.

Most games on this site are XP compatible, but, when in doubt, check there.

Also, check the bottom of each gamecard for the system requirements. The OS is only 1 piece. Make sure your video card, processor, and memory are enough to run the game. Every game will have varying system requirements.

I'm pretty sure every game on the site is compatible with Windows XP. Your limiting aspect will likely be your graphics card or processing speed for the newer games.
Forgive my interruption. I bought a game that once, long ago (I mean LONG ago!), I found wonderfully addictive called Starflight. Bought it from GOG and tried to download it to my IPad. I decided it probably doesnt work on that machine. Now I am working with my PC running XP and tried to download the game, then tried to download the GOG downloader. I seem to be totally lost. Where, once I buy a game do I find the downloading option - I've clicked on the game in my account but nothing seems to happen. I am not a geek but I usually know how to click on "download" and get things to work. Any help? will be much appreciated... I want to become addicted again!

You'd have to check the latest additions. These are the only one that might possibly have an issue with XP. But imho, xp compatibility problems will only start appearing on a significant scale once games start requiring dx11. For the moment, only a handful of games will face that issue, but that minority will likely start to grow from 2014 onwards

The downloader is optional. You can chose to use it or to use the regular browser download. Starflight is only 48Mb, the downloader brings no benefit ( for larger games, using the browser download means downloading multiple files , the downloader makes it easier )

Anyhow, the downloader should work under xp. Do you have the most recent version? If not sure of your install, desinstall it and install it again, then reboot your computer
You are all buffleheaded.....
