I can't disagree that belgum make some outstanding beers. but heres a few from across my lil island you may like to try....
Stouts: (flat,dark/ almost black looking(technically ruby), thick and smooth )
guinness, murphys, beamish
dark ales (flat, like a cross between bitters and stouts. bit lighter good in the winter)
Brains dark, black wych, the old revrand james
bitters / light ales (flat, golden to red in colour):
rhymney bitter, john smiths, Brains SA

Easy solution: don't donate blood.

Same here - we usually have a choice of soda. A good dark beer would be awesome. I will have to stock some the next time I give blood and see how it makes me feel.

then how do you get free beer ;)
i don't know if there are other belgian people around here but we are quite known for :
1) beer
2) chocolate
3) fries (i refuse to say french fries since the french stole our country and claimed our inventions as well)
another great dark beer after giving blood is westvleteren.
It's voted the best beer in the world. We can say it's the best , carlsberg only can say probably ;)
anyway i'm quite of being a belgian if it comes to beer. to bad we have to take our royal house , immigrants , politicians and other parasites as well.

Seems odd that this would occur a day after the fact of donating blood. But I'm only a real doctor if it means getting a date. Ha. However, usually after getting bloodwork done at the Docs (I'm a diabetic), I almost ALWAYS feel weak and at the point of fainting and blacking out after they take blood. And usually orange juice seems to put the life back in me just fine. I'm not sure if it's the Vitamin C or what exactly it is that helps.
I dunno how beer would affect this as beer/alcohol thins out the blood. Would love to hear the results though.

orange juice is good to but is lacks the vitamin B that stimulates new bloodcell production.
Orange juice is mainly used for fighting hangovers. That helps a lot re-energizing the body.
Strangely enough they only advise dark brown beer , coca cola , grenadine and meat the first evening or greassy fish followed by some healthy fruit.
Strange combination i know , but better then those bitter tasting medecines.

I need to go the the UK once in a while for my work. Leeds , sheffield and wigan.

It seems that I'm back in shape. Some good meal and a few gallons of tea make real wonders.
A colleague told me that yesterday was darn low air pressure (it was really cloudy). Even one of our mechanics fainted yesterday (and he didn't donor blood).
Most probably it was a combo of bad weather + blood loss + failure on my endurance saving throw.
You know, I've donored blood several times before and I never felt that bad as yesterday (actually, I've never felt bad at all after donoring blood), but it is already ok. And thanks again for your advices.
