It would be cool if it was hidden object - I'd love that.

His hidden object series (3 Cards to Midnight, I think) has been pretty good if you like the Tex series.

I'd use a digital and then get Tara Reid or some other d-lister. She'd probably work for scale in anything non-pornographic.

you should be shot for that. tex murphy is pure adventure and should stay that way.

hidden object games are just adventure games made easy for dumb people.

Though in less strong terms, I agree with you. I don't consider the hidden object games "adventure games for dumb people," I simply don't find them fun.
Hoping for a game akin to Pandora Directive.
FMV would obviously be a bonus!
OK, I haven't played any of these games despite being aware of them.

If I was to try them out, what would be the most satisfying to start with?

any of the latest three. the first two are slightly different (and much older)
pandora directive has the best story line i think.

Pandora is the best imo, followed by UAKM.

Pandora Directive is a masterpiece.
God damn you, I might just reinstall right now.
UAKM is also very good in its own right, but I occasionally find it a bit too campy.
Overseer is different but also still very good.

The stories are pretty much self-contained (with usual references, but even those are obvious and or explained).
So start with Pandora!

Thanks for the recommendation, I understand you are the site fan/authority.

You should be on commission from Gog.

Bought.

I'll run that by a blue at some point or another.

And enjoy, you're in for a hell of a ride!

Wow. I actually have not been excited for a computer game for the past 10 years.
Now if I could only fast forward time.
In a chat organized by members of the Unofficial Tex Murphy Web Site just now, someone claiming to be Aaron Connors joined the chat and mentioned the following:

- Chris Jones will make an announcement sometime today regarding the new game

- When asked if Kickstarter will be a part of the announcement, he said "I don't want to jump the gun, but...yup.", and then "The game will be released when it's ready and a lot of that depends on how much money Chris has to work with..."

- When I asked about FMV, he said: "Tex games without FMV? Ridiculous!"
Awesome, thanks for sharing!
