Chihaya: Plus there's such a strong sense of community here that many people practically buy everything on GOG because it's from GOG.

That reminds me, I'm going to pick up Kingdom: The Far Reaches.
lol, GOG is really becoming the gaming equivalent of the Criterion line of DVDs and Blu-Rays
people buy them all to get all the boxes in their profiles, instead of the "spine numbers" of the Criterion Collection to showcase their complete DVD collection
same kind of connoisseur cachet too, same kind of respect for the source material... but thankfully, none of the insanely inflated prices

Well thats bullshit. People are here because they love games not because they want cheap games. I have the Unreal games on Steam because I bought them there before GOG was launched and I wont be buying them from GOG simply to support GOG. Look at every new release thread and you will see as many people saying they wont buy a game as those who do. GOG users are not brainless zombies and I like to think that the GOG staff prefer it that way.

I think people who do that (not me) are not supporting GOG per se, but supporting the ideal that DRM-less, region-less digital distribution can be financially successful (for the distributor and the publishers) too. For now, of course, GOG is the only one that do this storewide...
if its EA that would be sooo awesome (if the games im thinking of below are actually owned by EA of course):
dungeon keeper, syndicate, ultima, wing commander, crusader no remorse/regret, little big adventure (not sure on that one)

All of them are but little big adventure. That game was published by both EA and Activision, EA for Europe and Activision for the US. I have no idea who owns distributions rights to that game anymore though.

I hoped that Monolith would have be there too. They're still active and they have plenty of good games (not only Blood, but Claw, No one lives forever, Tron 2.0).

Tron 2.0 is excellent. I was hoping they'd use that as the basis for the new Tron movie, but they're not, sadly.

Chihaya: How would EA make money again with old Ultima DOS games or System Shock 1 and 2 without a site like GOG? At this point it's not going to happen, they're too antiquated.
Their games are just laying dormant and netting them NOTHING. Even if DRM-free GOG games are pirated, it makes them SOME money.

EA would repackage old titles in a dysfunctional format like they with C&C, have part of the material missing and need the fans to patch the game.
Or, in this case, did I get Lucasarts, STEAM and EA confused again?

I think you did get them all confuscated again.
EDIT: Tom Ohle (@EvolveTom) said this on Twitter earlier today: "Still plotting next major GOG.com publisher announcement. Announcing later than originally anticipated, but eh, still work to do!"
Earth to the GOG team: Tease us! Tease us! We want to be teased!

I wonder who got the rights for Gremlin Interactive games, especially Realms of the Haunting. I mean, it was published by Interplay (which already has a deal with GOG) in North America, but they self-published it in Europe.

Gremlin completely fractured. Some went to Infogrammes and therefore Atari, some went to Eidos and some went to Sega.

Faithful: microprose would be cool.

Indeed. I'd love to see Master of Orion II or Master of Magic, or many others here. Though MicroProse it's now Atari, so let's hope it's them.
