pimpmonkey2382: However, when you take them all together, it would have made it nearly impossible for Christianity to survive if Jesus had not risen from the dead. That doesn't prove that Jesus resurrected, but it should give us pause to consider that rejecting Christianity isn't as simple as doubting that a resurrection could happen.
Have to address this, it's only not simple to ancient illiterate jews in the bronze age. Resurrection is completely impossible, and is the foundation of christianity that jesus on a stick came back to life, we know that's impossible but those that believe refuse to acknowledge that.
Resurrection being impossible is why it's a miracle. Have to address this, it's only not simple to ancient illiterate jews in the bronze age. Resurrection is completely impossible, and is the foundation of christianity that jesus on a stick came back to life, we know that's impossible but those that believe refuse to acknowledge that.
Not understanding that is as lame as saying that God can't exist because there isn't anywhere for Him to exist within time. God exists outside of time as the creator of everything, including time. Hawking didn't have the authority to put that limit on God. Nor do you, that resurrection is impossible. God does anything He wills that is in accord with his own nature (non-self contradictory). He doesn't bow to puny, post-modernist games. The problem is not that people refuse to acknowledge the miraculous nature of resurrection, but that you refuse to look at the evidence that a miracle ever happened. I suggest you read a few things, even though I dislike their publishing sources. Check out (wow, once again telling you to do research instead of wallowing in your own opinions) a little tiny book put out by , gulp, hank hannegraff. I'm no fan of hank, and can't spell his last name correctly. Anyway, most of his stuff that's any good is actually written by research employees and published by hank. So, while he's a bit questionable, the researchers who work for him do honest work. It's a little tiny book on the resurrection with a forward by (again, gulp) Lee Stroebel. Lee does honest work too, but for some lame reason he later became mixed up in the heretical (non-christian) "Purpose Driven" church movement. Ugh...
Off the top of my head (I'm waiting for a process to finish at work) I can't quite remember the other thing sot send you to. However, when I read your posts, I see a flaming ignorance of the evidence that's out there. However again, I did catch that I'm not reading too carefully and originally missed the first few sentences of this post. PLEAASE learn Textual Criticism and find out the evidence on which these things you slander are based.
Lastly, if I seem harsh, this is nothing. My harshest is reserved for Christians who deliberately keep themselves ignorant and call it "child-like faith." These Christians are usually genuinely faithful and really are saves, but they let themselves get deceived into all kinds of heresies. It's an in-house issue, but I wanted to let you know that there is where my flames really fly, and in person instead of on-line.
Well, my process is finished. I get to go home now. Have a good night. If you want real resources, PM me (do I have that turned on?) and I'll gather some links up.
