I find it amusing that some people use the word, "unamerican" as an insult, considering large corporations an the government decide what is "American" every day.

I mean, being an "American" nowadays is being sheep that does not think and does what is best for the large corporations and the government. The large corporations and government created our "American" culture. So if someone calls you "unamerican", it's a compliment.

Almost in the same way religion stops people from thinking, and just shuffles people into line in hopes of some "great" reward at the end.

Even dogs show affection, empathy and try to help each others (or even people) out, without knowing anything about god or religion. Similarly, even though the bible probably doesn't forbid it, I just don't want to kill little kittens. Killing little kittens for fun might be ok in the eyes of different religions, but it isn't in my eyes.

Then again, there are many ways to prepare milk - some more healthy than some others. But whatever, hardly the most dangerous thing in my life all things considered...

Also bloodsausages! Suppose i should buy some + lingonjam today.
It's no particular coincidence that humans are pretty much the only species that regularly ingests milk well into adulthood.

http://www.seattleschild.com/article/uw-study-children-as-young-as-15-months-show-sense-of-fairness
“Our findings show that these norms of fairness and altruism are more rapidly acquired than we thought,” Sommerville said
At the end of the article: Does this mean that fairness and altruism are due to nature, or can these qualities be nurtured? Sommerville’s research team is investigating this question now, looking at how parents’ values and beliefs alter an infant’s development.
“It’s likely that infants pick up on these norms in a nonverbal way, by observing how people treat each other,” Sommerville said.
Acquired, not inherent. If those observed people were previously influenced in some manner by religion (they say "values and beliefs"), it stands to reason that it would rub off on the babies as they grow. Obviously, the baby won't see it as religion - they'll just be imitating their primary influences. That trickles down through generations as we learn our behaviors from the generations who teach us, and it's likely some of that comes from religious influence along the way.“It’s likely that infants pick up on these norms in a nonverbal way, by observing how people treat each other,” Sommerville said.
