A stance I take with new games is that I very, very VERY rarely pay full price for a new game.

The last full priced game I got, Guild Wars 2, was half purchased by a family member as an early birthday gift. The last full priced game I actually bought was Fallout: New Vegas, for obvious reasons.

I am cheap when it comes to games. After seeing reports showing how profitable even a poor-selling title is, I no longer feel obligated to pay full price for most games, as most recent major-published games have been lacking in one area or several.

Even F:NV was a bugfest, but I didn't mind it because I wanted to support Obsidian, and even bought 1/2 the DLC's at full price too, before my disposable income dropped due to reality :)
Apple - Overpriced garbage IMO. Apple is the main brand in the new hipster scene. I don't buy it because I don't want to fit in with that scene.

Any DRM that requires an online connection or is otherwise intrusive. An automatic no-purchase for me.

Any game made by Criterion Games. They screwed us PC gamers over on Burnout Paradise so they earned a lifetime ban from me.

It's not video game related, but I never order a steak from a restaurant. I'm not paying $40 for something that I can buy at the grocery store for $10. Besides, it tastes better when I cook it.

Dude, where do you live that a steak costs $40? The only steaks I have seen at that price are the kind where they challenge you to eat the whole thing in an hour to get it for free. I sometimes splurge and get the $25 steak, but that's a 1.5 lb porterhouse. Although I do live in ranch country so maybe that's the difference.

Hey, try the UK. At my local pub, which is alright but really nothing special, a 7 oz fillet steak will set you back £15.45, or almost exactly $25 at the current exchange rate.

My nearest town is Winchester (not far from Southampton in the south of England). They've got a steak restaurant - have a look at the prices on their menu...

Psyspace: A matter of principle
Grammar Nazis of the world unite! :)

I hate misused language, and the general low standard of Internet postings is pretty depressing. The worst part is that lower standards from spelling and grammar are starting to effect published works.
I gave up tasty Chik-Fil-A because I don't want my money funding hate groups that oppose my right to be with another consenting adult.

You've obviously never been to a Morton's or Hyde Park. $40 is sort of on the cheap side in a place like that.

Oh, and did I mention that the steaks are sold a la carte? So after side dishes and drinks, you're actually looking at $80-100 on the bill. Per person.

Plus tip.
