I don't want to ressurect my old thread, since I don't want to get any negative rep. But I just want to update on my start as a board gamer.

Well, I am getting a certain board game as an easter present from my parents, since they always get me an my brother something for easter. That game is.....

King Of Tokyo.

I am excited to get this game, as it looks extremely fun. I know it wasn't reccomended to me, and I will buy the games that were reccomended at some point, but King Of Tokyo just seemed really fun.

How about you fill us in on it a little Draco?

On King Of Tokyo?

King of Tokyo Is a board game where you play as monsters attacking each other and trying to destroy tokyo.
It's a Dice Game like Yahtzee. But Instead of 1,2,3,4,5,6 , the dice are numbered 1,2,3,lightning bolt, claw, and heart.
Lightning Bolt = energy, which is sort of like money to purchase power up cards. Claw = attack. Heart= heal.

I plan on buying the expansion which adds another monster and evolution cards.

And I also plan on buying its sequel, King Of New York.

I will.
I love board games. I wish my girlfriend wanted to play ("I don't like to play; I lose"). I need some more real-life friends!

Funny, 'King of New York' sound more like mobsters than monsters - in face I know a song about that...

Play on , or have a look at [url=http://www.vassalengine.org/index.php]Vassal, an engine for online boardgaming with modules for hundreds of games.
Like a head-to-head table-top version of Crush, Crumble, and Chomp?

That game brings back memories.
King of Tokyo, eh? It's nothing I would consider buying for myself, but I did have a good time with it the few times we played the game on the weekly board game outing in which I participate.

It's funny. When it comes to losing at video games I can get all sorts of riled up, but when it comes to board games I don't care either way as I'm just having fun (although it's good not being last ;)).

Have you tried looking into local gatherings in your area? The bigger your city the more likely it is that there are people like you looking for some board game action. I found my current board game night event through Meetup (sometimes these things can be found through reddit as well). It's a good sized event, too, with usually 40+ of us basically taking over an entire pub/restaurant during a weekday night. Good times. :)

With Tabletop Simulator http://store.steampowered.com/app/286160/ I hope someone will be able to mod it in. Sounds like a fun board game. :D

Reminds me of War of the Monsters http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eW1DAZbOuTk

I've tried it a couple of times. It's extremely simple to learn and play, but quite fun. Don't expect to spend an entire afternoon on it though. It's quite short, and I don't think you'll want to play more than a few games in a row.
I recently watched the video with Wheaton and Totalbiscuit, looks pretty interesting.
Ah a newer entry from the creator of Magic: The Gathering. Can't say I've played it, but it's got a great pedigree
