Sad to hear that, but at least you will show up sometimes :-) All the best for your personal life, etc ;-)
Thanks for the GA & +1 but not in.

As for my favourite christmas songs, they would be:

1. "Oh Christmas Tree" because this is fu$%ing hilarious! :DDDD
2. "Silent Night".. If only the christmas night would be silent too... :P

Cheers!

adaliabooks: All of it. She wrote and sings it, and we made the video.

And thank you (on her behalf) :)

She's a great singer, and writer. We're trying to see if she can get anywhere with it, but it's finding the time and money to do stuff.

ddickinson: She really is a great singer and writer (I just made my brother buy me a copy of the song from iTunes :-) (I don't have an account)). It must be hard trying to get started in the music business, but I wish her all the best.
Thank you! :)

Yeah, it's tough. She mainly just wants to write, but even that is hard to get into. We can only try :)

No need to thank me, I liked the song. Good luck with it all, you never know what the future hold, and at the very least, you will know you have tried.

Yeah. You never know until you try. I know she's got the talent to do well and at least make some money from it, we just need to keep pushing it.
No need for sadness, peeps. Our friend BillyMaysFan59 isn't leaving he's just going to be present little less than usual.

Since I really appreciate the devotion you have shown around our community, I'm not going to give you one but three of my favorite Christmas songs. Can't give you any additional reasons why they're my favorite, maybe because I find them the most catchy ones. :)

Top3
Frank Sinatra - Santa Claus is coming to town
George Michael - Last Christmas
Any choir (doesn't give me the kicks if it's a solo) - Silent night

Count me in for the giveaway, please.
Thanks for sharing and have a lovely Christmas!

From the first time I began posting here, you have been a solid friend and guidepost, in fact. I enjoy your forum presence, your warmth and generosity of spirit, and the zany good vibes you bring. I look forward to continuing our conversations however, and I sincerely hope that whatever is going on in your personal life that everything turns out well. Of course you know that I'm just a PM away if you need or want to chat more about whatever is going on.

You've gone above and beyond the term "internet friend" many times, and I'm grateful for our friendship.

This is one of my favorite songs for Christmas, even though it's not very traditional:
The Chieftains - ♫ The Bells of Dublin • Christmas Eve ♫

I wish everyone, whatever religion or creed, a joyful time this season. It can be a hard, bitter, darksome time for even the brightest flames amongst ye, so look for comfort where ye may.

adaliabooks: Sorry to hear you won't be around as much, you will be missed.

Fairytale of New York by the Pogues & Kirsty McColl

Another Lonely Christmas

which is by my girlfriend *cough*shameless promotion*cough*
Ah,excellent taste! The Pogues are one of my favorite folk bands and I was going to post that before I saw yours. Shane McGowan, the classiest toothless bastard in the world.<3

As to the second song...I am also a Whovian so this was a very nice tribute. I hope your partner finds happiness in her musical pursuits:)

As usual, NOT IN:P
Sorry to hear you have less time to spend with us, but at least you won't be gone completely. I've definitely enjoyed your posts and your cheerful salesman piccy :)

I hope these are happy reasons in your personal life. (Not being nosy, just wishing you well in whatever is going on.)

I am in for the giveaway, and thank you for making your announced slowdown as gracious and generous as your presence has been thus far. Hope you can find time to come back and visit before too many months pass us all by.

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and every other good wish of the season :)

It's sad, but aside from some explicitly Christian songs/hymns/carols (which many here would not appreciate,) my favorite Christmas songs are funny ones

Santa Claus is Watching You

Sorry to hear you're half-buggering off, especially as I didn't really get the chance to get to know you. Hope to still see you around at least!

Not in - thought I'd still drop in and leave a link to the greatest Christmas song ever written but

adaliabooks: As to my favourite Christmas song, there can really only be one.

Fairytale of New York by the Pogues & Kirsty McColl

It is not just a great Christmas song, but a fabulous song full stop. I never use to be a hugely Christmassy person, but I always loved this song. It's not Christmas for me until I've heard it at least once.
oh look, the very first person to leave one got it bang on the money. What a nice surprise.
Yeah, I'm about the same. I never feel especially festive until someone puts that track on, then I just can't help it.

It's just a brilliant song. The story, the contrast between their voices. I love that it's not a typically sugar coated happy Christmas song too, as so many seem to be.

Thank you! :)
Sorry to hear you will be spending less time with us Billy. It has been a real treat having you around here.

I love "Baby It's Cold Outside" performed by Michael Buble and Idena Menzel.

Not in :)

Best regards,
Carer Elton
Thanks everyone for your kind replies.

Grargar: snip
Also thank you very much for your donation Grargar, it is very much appreciated. I will update the OP in a few minutes. Give that some +1, y'all. ;)
Aww that's a royal bummer! Now who will offer us timely two-for-one deals on cleaning supplies when the chimp goes ballistic (literally)?!

I wish I could offer you more Christmas melodious odiousness, but SalarShushan handily scooped the lot of the picks. I'd have gone with the Lehrer, naturally :P
To add to my own discussion, this is quite a fun arrangement of one of my favorite Christmas carols. :-D
