Maybe you shouldn't look for the next drug but for a cure instead, a game that gets you so immersed that you want to see all of it, completely play through it until you reach the ending, instead of going for the next thing after a few hours. Planescape Torment, for example, is really worth playing longer than just a few hours.

Still, to some extent I can relate to your addiction, the curiosity of discovering something new every day. So if you want to feed your addiction without losing your whole salary or inheritance or pocket money, you could also consider either buying Neverwinter Nights Diamond and then download a new free module every day or check out the indie freeware 'market' which also has lots of great games to offer. ;)

EDIT: Ah, I see BladeofBG has already given out similar advice, sorry.

God, I completely agree. I'm addicted to the sales more, though. I don't buy a game a day, but as soon as they have a Wednesday or weekend sale, I'm all over it, even if I had never thought about the game in question before. I'm going to die with the summer sales on Steam and GOG coming up.

I buy all these new games, play a little bit, then am already salivating for the next sale/gift, etc. I have at least 10 games I haven't finished/started, and yet I'm still wanting with a burning need a lot more on my wishlist, like Creatures. :P

I would suggest "Kings Bounty". I really loved that game, and I loved turn-based RPG.

I like the way how you said it juss as much as the way I said my piece. You gave a different perspective than I did, and I think it's welcome.
Those gem bastards.. I must agree that dukes manhattan project was fun.
I was pretty disappointed when there wasn't weekend promo.. I have so little money but fuck that.
Good promos are intentionally in the end of the month.. nobody has any money left.
Well i remember long time ago i bought most of the games already but i never got far then mostly only the beginning, now i have bought the games again on gog and coming much futher then i ever used to be.
m&m 4/5 i finished the light side, arcanum im vl 34, gothic im at chapet 2 and still exploring, and DD im lvl 12, and ultima underworld wich i shamefully had the abandoned version i didnt even came further then the first room and now i almost cleaned the first lvl, my ps 3 is off a lot these days :)

well i hope its gonna be good and it will be money spending again ;0
Holy Geez! I juss read the headline of GoG's official thread, and they have it in bold that they aren't having a promotion! Hot damn I feel stoopid!
My problem is when there's a sale I like I typically think to myself: "Gee, this game is so damn cheap I can easily afford to add one or two more regular-prized ones." One thing leads to another and I end up with another five games I barely find the time to play. Out of the sixty-something games I have I may have completed only one thus far (last night, in fact). Yes, it's a bit of a problem. I get too easily distracted by new purchases, but I'm finally starting to work on my growing GoG backlog.

That said, this may still be a good thing as GoG really has become my main source of gaming as of late. Despite of my slight spending spree in the last few months, I've ended up spending significantly less than usually. My god, just thinking about all that money I've spent on console games the last few years... ugh! I'm sure as hell getting a lot more bang out of my buck here, and I'm having a fantastic time with it too.

$60 for a new game? I end up thinking about that long and hard now.

The only game I have paid full price for in the past 6 years is the Witcher 2, and I only did that in support of GOG. I actually got another copy for a friend just for the hell of it to support GOG.

In short, I buy from and support GOG because they are pure awesomeness... :-)

Compared to GoG's awsome selection of games, how many games currently in retail are as awsome?

As far as I'm concerned, it's not even close: GoG's quality selection of games trumps all the competition.

Yeah me too. As of late, GOG has become not my first choice regarding old games, but my first choice, period.
My name is Deus, and I have a problem.

I'm addicted to old games with awesome gameplay and will never stop purchasing them. I've been buying GOGs for about a year now, but since I only have a Macbook I can only play about 30% of my catalogue. Buying a new PC soon... That will be the end of me.
